Sure but at least common sense has prevailed

Worst case scenario is that there will be three sports happening during the same time on the channels of Nine. For northern states, it will be likely that NRL stays on 9HD with the Ashes Test Series on 9GEM. Basketball may be shown on 9Go nationally. [9Go used to televise sport like basketball from last year]. For southern states, it may be possible that Nine will screen The Ashes on primary channel in HD with Eels v Bulldogs on 9GEM in HD. For Perth viewers, this would mean that they might need to push news to 5pm followed by the cricket at 5:30pm (Perth time).

Imparja uses Brisbane feeds for their North feed (QLD/NT) and Sydney for South (NSW/VIC/SA/TAS), so all Imparja viewers will get NRL on Imparja, cricket on Gem, and Netball on Go.

Common sense prevailed!

I would have liked to seen nine have some balls tonight and place the Netball or the cricket on the main channel.

It’s a Thursday night, during school holidays, up against not much on the channels.

Surly tonight would have been a good time to see where netball or women’s cricket does rate and promote women’s sports in prime time.

Do something outside the square, and really how many people are rushing home to watch RBT?

I believe they missed a massive chance to do something different.

Not School holidays in Victoria

Aside from the fact there’d have to be very exceptional circumstances for the NRL to be demoted to 9Gem in NSW/Queensland, I thought the kids here are back at school this week…

In the southern states. Not the ones that have NRL on the main channel. :man_facepalming:

And it’s still school holidays in Adelaide, but as always Nine Adelaide is a follower and the programming department has no balls to actually do something different and test the water.

Australia pipped New Zealand by one goal in last night’s Netball World Cup match, and will now face South Africa in Saturday’s first semi-final, which will be shown live on 9GO! around the country at 8pm AEST. The second semi-final between England and NZ will be live streamed on 9Now only.

NAILBITER SEES DIAMONDS INTO SEMI-FINAL

SATURDAY 20 JULY

After Australia’s closest match to date, the Diamonds proceed to the semi-finals of the Vitality Netball World Cup, live and exclusive from Liverpool in England tomorrow night at 8.00pm on 9Go! and 9Now.

In a thrilling clash with the New Zealand Silver Ferns, Australia claimed a one-point victory with Diamonds captain Caitlin Bassett sealing the winning goal before a rare miss from star New Zealand shooter, Maria Folau.

Dynamic Diamonds defender Courtney Bruce was on fire, continuing her strong World Cup form and being named player of the match.

Australia now face their second acid test in the tournament when they take on South Africa in the first semi-final tomorrow night. In the second semi-final, New Zealand play the Commonwealth Games gold medal winners England. The semi-final winners will go on to play for the World Cup trophy.

Nine’s Wide World of Sports will broadcast the Australian Diamonds semi-final from 8.00pm this Saturday, July 20, on 9Go! The other semi-final will be available live on 9Now.

Liz Ellis, Sue Gaudion and Catherine Cox called tonight’s semi final from the studio. I guess they will do it again tomorrow with Australia in the final.

No mention of the new ATP Cup men’s teams tournament which will debut next January.

Have seen this promo of sport coming to Nine like the NRL, The Ashes, Golf, Federation Cup and the Australian Open with Steve Britten voicing, ‘The biggest sporting events, ARE ONLY ON NINE!’

Well to be technical that is next year…:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Australian Open tennis is next year too

Seems like Nine has a really strange definition of “this year”…
