Time to move Karl to 2GB he clearly wants to be a fallback host.
This Mark Levy person - hardly anyone would know who he is - is highly inappropriate and sounds like a terrible person.
Iâm not sure thatâs right.
Your average Sydneysider wouldnât really know who he is. He isnât in the same vein as Alan Jones, John Laws, Ray Hadley or even Kyle Sandilands as prominent radio figures. He doesnât even come close.
Mark Levy is very well-known among 2GBâs audience having been a key member of the Continuous Call Team for many years as well as being a frequent fill-in host, especially for Ray Hadley in recent years.
I would agree he isnât as well-known among the rest of Sydney as Alan Jones, John Laws etc, but heâs still reasonably well known in Sydney owing to his NRL
commentary work.
Didnât say he would be - but you said hardly anyone would know who he is. He had 108,000 listeners last survey. Thatâs not small bikkies.
I was quite surprised reading that story I thought he was better than that if the story is true. Everyone should feel safe in the workplace and there is no place for bullying. Given that Olivia worked with Hadley she would have a thick skin and for her to leave just a few weeks later is interesting. I would have zero tolerance for that behaviour and Levy would get a warning and sacked if it continued 3 strikes your out. I donât care if he managed to keep Hadleyâs listeners big stairs that think they can bully others has got to stop.
3AW Launches AFLâs Irish Invasion Podcast
Get ready to dive deep into one of Australian sportâs most fascinating trends. 3AW Football is thrilled to announce the launch of The AFLâs Irish Invasion, a compelling, feature-length podcast that pulls back the curtain on the booming recruitment of Irish talent into the AFL and AFLW.
With a record number of former Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) stars gracing club lists in 2025, this special podcast explores why Ireland has become such a hotbed for Aussie Rules hopefuls.
Crafted and hosted by 3AW Footballâs dedicated AFLW reporter, Laura Spurway, The AFLâs Irish Invasion takes listeners on a journey to understand the powerful draw of professional sport in Australia for these gifted athletes. Why are so many choosing to leave behind successful GAA careers for a game still relatively unknown beyond our shores?
Youâll hear firsthand from those whoâve made the leap, including former AFL players Marty Clarke (Collingwood) and CiarĂĄn Byrne (Carlton), who share their unique experiences transitioning from junior Gaelic football standouts to AFL stars.
Spurway also spends time with Carlton Football Clubâs latest AFLW recruits and lifelong best friends, SĂofra OâConnell and Aisling Reidy. These inspiring women from GAA club Doora-Barefield offer a fresh, intimate perspective on their decision to chase a dream on the other side of the world.
âWeâre incredibly proud to present this feature-length podcast,â says Luca Gonano, Head of 3AW Football. âIt truly shines a light on the exceptional work being done by the AFL and its clubs to attract Irish athletes to our great game, showcasing the passion and talent thatâs making this âinvasionâ such a success story.â
The AFLâs Irish Invasion is available for download right now via 3AW.com.au or wherever you get your 3AW podcasts.
Laura Spurway said on 3AWâs Wide World of Sports last night that she had a whirlwind trip to Ireland last week. She only spent 72 hours on the ground.
Wonder why it would be tense? Mark Levy has won all his surveys and retained all of Hadleyâs ratings.
That is a very surface view of a working relationship.
It could have been anything. Show rundown/tooics, talent availability, preparationâŚwhatever.
Yes I would agree but to take it as far as that she was wanting to leave a few weeks later is just not acceptable behaviour you have got to let it go at some point I donât care how big the egos are itâs not acceptable this day and age regardless of the ratings.
I agree
I thought Tony Moclair was going to be off-air for the next few weeks to host this cruiseâŚ.
but he finished his show today by saying heâll be back on Monday. Maybe heâs pulled out.
Really enjoyed hearing the great man John Laws this morning in the studio with Ben Fordham. Loved how Ben came off the 8am news directly with El Presidente and then JL opened with the famous âHello Worldâ intro. The whole almost half hour went commercial free too. Great listening / link below.
The same article in The Australian also has a brief update on Nineâs proposed offload of its radio arm.
The Australian understands Nine has received four bids for its radio network - which consists of talk back stations 2GB in Sydney, 3AW in Melbourne, 4BC in Brisbane, and 6PR in Perth - with the highest offer so far being in the vicinity of $40m. Nine is holding out for an offer of between $50m and $60m, sources say.
be intersting to see who the names are and if they are foreign or domestic
Iâd like to see big games like State of Origin on Stan but advertising free. Iâd like to see whoever gets Nine Radio become less Right wing skewed commentary where some presenters say some really stupid things like how David Speers on the ABC should not be questioning Israel on their belief that Iran has nuclear weapons. Personally I would give ACMA more powers that coverage on radio should be neutral and if the station should broadcast unchallenged views that are blatant right ring rubbish they forfeit the right to broadcast.
I wonder if Ace or Bruce Gordon is one of those bidders.
Iâd love to see how WIN went owning a metro talk network.
Itâd be a sneaky way to ensure much goes unchanged, given Bruceâs big involvement in Nine Entertainment.
