Nine Radio (Talk)

Didn’t NTS cease broadcasting some time ago, along with 6GT on DAB+ in Perth?

Nope https://radiontsy.com/

The live stream doesn’t work and the app is unavailable to download so I would say it’s gone..

I just tuned to 2GB and they’ve got the NRL. 2SM also has the football.

A shame no Sydney commercial AM station has election coverage right now. I’m having to listen to 3AW.

3AW are also broadcasting the football…

Don’t have a sub, what did Michael give up?

Jacqui didn’t specify what Michael gave up in the article. She simply said:

Michael has given up his career in the media, so I can fulfil mine.

From my memory, Michael left Seven News Melbourne (where he was a sports reporter) to join RSN and Tabcorp. The working time allows Michael to spend weekday afternoons at home with the kids, while Jacqui travels to 3AW to host Drive.

He left Seven when 10 got the Melbourne Cup rights, so 3AW wasn’t a factor back then.

The segment will be heard every Wednesday from 2.35pm, during Afternoons with Sofie Formica.

Tony Jones also hosted Drive on Tuesday and today. At the end of today’s show, Tony said Jacqui would be back tomorrow.

as someone who works in the legal field in Brisbane, i had to google Attwood Marshall - that’s how well known they are. As soon as i saw No Win, No Fee, i knew the type they are.

Looks to be a gold coast based firm mostly (head office is Coolangatta) with serviced offices in Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney to look bigger than they are. They are not exactly a titan of the legal world.

While there have been no firm offers for the radio business, several parties have formally or informally expressed their interest to Nine, including right-wing news start-up Australian Digital Holdings.

This is an interesting excerpt from the article, which could mean more conservative presenters on 2GB and 3AW.

If they can even get a sale over the line

If Nine does decide to sell its radio stations, will this affect their sporting coverage, especially Olympic Games?

This was from Nine’s press release in February 2023 when it secured broadcast rights to every Olympics from 2024 to 2032.

The new owner may not so keen to continue broadcast the Games if it means paying an extra fee to Nine for the sub-rights.

And will new ownership impact the current lease of Nine Music radio stations?
