Interesting choice with a former AFL player hosting Nights on 3AW for the next two weeks.
4BH and 4BH both on backup tape at the moment. At least on analog.
Guess 4BC and 4BH.
On DAB+ 4BC is dead air and 4BH is music but “staccato” - radipd on/off. 4BC is now on line an well as 4BH
I noticed that too this arvo
Perhaps Nine Radio could do to pay for proper RF engineers and IT professionals?
The rebuild at Cannon Hill has taken forever and probably well over budget. Disastrous to put it nicely.
They need to employ staff with broadcast technology experience.
Doubt it. That costs money.
Why employ someone with experience and know-how when you can employ someone with bugger all experience but is cheap or outsource it to someone who will cut corners to get down to the lowest bid management will accept.
Reminds me of this from the Simpsons
Lovely guy but his presentation style is sleep inducing.
Very soft gentle and slowwww
I was going to say the same thing. I enjoy his segments but hosting a 5-hour show is a bit much for me.
Bring back Andrew McLaren I say! Have come to enjoy him filling in over summer.
Probably an improvement over Michael McLaren.
When is 2GB making an announcement for 2025 Drive? Surely they’d have someone by now - unless it was extremely last minute for O’Keefe to notify Nine?
Also, didn’t Jim Wilson say prior to him leaving 2GB that he’d be popping up on Nine TV or elsewhere in the near future?
I haven’t seen him at all since leaving GB.
Surely it will be Jason Morrison or Clinton Maynard?
Unfortunately, I doubt it’ll be Jason Morrison. He was heard recently on 2SM congratulating Chris Smith - even mentioning he was listening. Not sure that Nine would like that if it were him.
I remember Jim Wilson saying that but a few months later there was a release saying Wilson had completely left the network, not sure the reasons though.
Clinton Maynard should get the Drive gig.
Is Lucy Zelic still there doing Drive? That might just keep her on to shut the equal opportunity people up.
Jason seems to also be pretty busy with ADH TV’s rebrand as Newsmax Australia. I doubt Nine would want to be associated with such a thing, even by association.
No more weekend half hour bulletins on 3AW. Just extended headlines on the half hour.
At least it’s a local news reader. None in Brisbane this weekend.
ETA: at least no Sydney centric 0630 news headlines, zero input from newsroom. Usually a full bulletin on 4BC at the bottom of the hour on weekend mornings. The garden clubs will be happy to hear more gardening bore. For me, radio off.
Are you sure it’s not just temporary for a few weeks over Christmas/New Years?
