Felgate proves to be just as useless as we expected. Failure to make an impact when she was on Seven and now failed on 3AW. They need to get Heidi Murphy in ASAP before they really lose the joint. It’s only Breakfast and Mornings holding them up at the moment.

They won’t get that audience back, so they are delusional if they think it’s a long term game or some other bs ‘in it for the long haul’….‘early days’….
I haven’t tuned in since she took the helm. I will return if HM is back in the slot. Ball is in 9s court

The style of her show just doesn’t cut it for Drive. It’s afternoon content. The pacing of the show is too slow and it’s just not what Melbourne wants in that slot,
They need to get Heidi in that slot ASAP. She is the only one I can see that could remotely turn it around.

I too like Heidi but I don’t think she’s the permanent solution. She’s good to have as the go to fill-in, and let’s not forget has only been with Nine News for a couple of years so it’s probably not time for her to leave television as yet.
I’d be looking at Nick McCallum or Seb Costello.

I think you’re right. Heidi is a great fill in, and as I mentioned, she does have some work to do, as she has been in producer roles, or not so much on air roles, for the prior decades.
Not sure about Seb. Might be too opinion heavy.
Seb would be a good fit. Youthful. And the sign of a younger generation - similar to having Chris O’Keefe on 2GB.
Maybe he missed out on the role as they wanted at least one female in their daytime lineup?
There’s one person here that hasn’t been mentioned. I agree Heidi would be a great choice - but what about Eddie?

As I said before Eddie would’ve been perfect for Mornings, but it’s too late now.
Jacqui is not tanking. This was always a longer term play. Same with Chris O’Keefe.
Look at the numbers listening to 3aw drive via the app. Something like 18 percent.
Look at the engagement in the brand, news stories picked up in other media etc.
Look at how the 3aw numbers compare to really the only talk competition at the ABC.
Talk Radio has to start moving with the times otherwise listeners will literally die off.

Since yesterday, 3AW news bulletins finishes after weather with “(newsreader name), on your home of the Olympics, Melbourne’s own 3AW”.

2GB has "I’m (newsreader name) , there’ll be more news at (next bulletin time) on your home of the Olympics, SYDNEY’S 2GB. For about 2 weeks they have stopped having the frequency ie on Sydney’s 2GB 873.
Its interesting that 3AW doesn’t have 3 headlines at the start but has a weather call instead. I prefer that and in my opinion it should be used network wide. They only started doing the 3 headlines since 2GB combined with 2UE and were owned by Nine Entertainment.

The Breakfast show with Ross and Russ has also had a decline in ratings(although still on top).

This might be a silly comment, but wonder if Nine were considering getting Michael Felgate (star of 10’s Melbourne Cup Carnival) for their horse racing? Goes back to Makybe Diva days on Seven’s coverage for Seven News. Also on RSN radio I believe and other stakeholders in the industry. Could’ve also been used across WWOS, such as the tennis and Olympics, which Michael also did a lot, first producing Athens 2004.
Would be a bit awkward if his wife Jacqui Felgate got fired, not that it would matter though.
