Bill Woods in for Michael McLaren tonight.
Is there a reason why Michael McLaren can’t work a five day week any week?
Very poor consistency each week after John has gone on hols.

Probably because McLaren is working across the holiday period and then into Afternoons in the New Year.
And equally bizarre is that over 10 days since Spencer left, the website hasn’t been updated, so it still looks like he’s presenting at weekends. In fact none of the summer changes for shows coming out of 4BC are on the website.
Tony Leonard hosting 3AW’s Wide World of Sports on Wednesday-Friday this week, as Matt Granland is sick.
(If I heard correctly, near the end of Wednesday’s show, Tony said Matt had COVID)
Correct, seems there is a minor COVID outbreak at 3AW, Darren James, Andrew McLaren and now Matt Granland, plus some off-air staff.
Darren can stay away. Emily is great. Would be beneficial for them to give her the weekend Shift and move Darren on.
I like Emily but Darren on the weekend is irreplaceable IMO. I liked her filling in for Denis on Nights but I don’t think she has the on-air authority/gravitas that DJ has to host weekend mornings solo.
We refer to Darren James as “the mouth from the south” here. He completely ruins the Computer Show. The sooner he goes for good the better it will be.
I think it is the case with all the websites showing just the usual Monday to Friday hosts and not the summer fill ins. Also bizarre is that the Nine Syndication Website is still howing Joe Hildebrand as afternoons on 2GB and virtually no mention of Brisbane at all. Sometimes I get the impression that Nine is not all that interested in the Radio side of things, surely it is not a great money maker for them. I was recently told that 2GB would not make the move to North Sydney as the cost of relocating and the real estate it would take was not worth the effort.
Darren has presented weekend mornings since 1994. He loves to name drop and talk over presenters who are normally experts in their field. He is also prone to opening his mouth with out having his brain in gear, a common trait from some of his generation from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
You can’t deny him his passion for the medium but it gets very repetitive.
Emily is balanced and listens to what people say whether it be a fellow presenter, an expert guest or a talk back caller.
Oh , Rossco your avatar is a dead ringer for Junior from Number 96.

2GB appears to have dead air right now (at least via the live streams), Started at 12:03am.
Same for 2CC.
Someone at 2GB must have heard you, as they’ve now shared a “Christmas and New Years” schedule in graphical form.
4BC meantime will have local Breakfast continuing with Peter Fegan except on Christmas Day until Laurel, Gary and Mark return.
Bill McDonald finished up on Mornings today for the year, returning on the 15th of January. But Gary Hardgraves will fill in in the interim.
Bianca Stone will be back on Afternoons for 3 weeks from January 1st until Sofie Formica returns.
Peter Gleeson finished up Drive today as well for the year. Jason Dasey will host Drive except on Christmas Day until January 15th.
Where is 4BC finding all this talent?
I haven’t heard of a lot of these names.
Are they all journalists?
talent??? only Gary Hardgrave is worth listening to and as for Laurel, Gary and Mark I still can’t understand why they got the gig, what a joke. Why does 4BC bother.
Thanks for this, perhaps its time for Darren to go and smell the roses.
Sorry, it is Christmas and I should be kinder.
@Rossco, it’s Mediaspy, drive the dagger right in and keep twisting until you break through.
3AW’s Christmas schedule
Excellent hosting by Simon and Phil of the carols OB.
Enjoying hearing Nick McCallum on Drive this week. Also great to hear Emily Power, Andrew McLaren, Philip Brady and Simon Owens on-air frequently, amongst others. AW are lucky to have such depth in their presenting ranks.
