You won’t see Felgate at 9 News, for the same reason we didn’t see Bec Maddern. If Felgate is earning hundreds of k on social deals, then why would she bother with some 70k tv field reporter role. She comes across as the type that would say that sort of role is now beneath her.

Agree with above comments, but for what it’s worth, I listened to Jacqui’s rather lengthy (if scripted) statement (apology?) on the AW website today (that was read live on-air at the top of her program I believe) and it was very strong, she was particularly protective of her 20+ year career as a journalist. The News Corp (forever hunting Nine) storm in recent days/weeks clearly hit a nerve with her but also management.
I was thinking that too, weird it was allowed to go ahead or perhaps not and too late once published, wonder if Malone gave him a phone call?

Pretty decent get for Tom Elliot having new premier Jacinta Allan appear on the program in studio to answer questions. She also committed to appearing on the Morning program when Tom takes the reins next year.

It’s hardly a scandal, it’s a typical Murdoch media beat-up, but, she’s right, it’s 3AW’s responsibility, not hers, to update the register. It is indeed, part of the broadcast licence conditions. 3AW have cocked up here. I thought her statement was concise, to the point and set the record straight, all that in about two minutes.
As far as Hadley’s commentary, I would think the alleged defamation claims against him, by a senior NSW police officer, which are before the court, would be, potentially, far more damaging to Nine Media than this non-issue.

Tony McManus covered 3AW mid dawn with Simon Owens this morning. With Tony’s hat now in the ring surely he is amongst the front runners to take over in 2024? With mid dawns covering both Adelaide and Melbourne he is no stranger to 3AW or Fiveaa, so it will be interesting to see who gets the gig.

Was definitely on air yesterday and mentioned Tony being on today at the end of the show - sounded like Neil wasn’t interested in working the long weekend, which makes sense given he’s finishing up in December.

Tony Moclair has commented on the Australia Overnight Facebook page that he will return for one week of overnights from Monday 23rd of October, before starting permanently on Afternoons the following week.
For the next three weeks, Tony McManus will host the slot and I can only imagine he’ll be taking over permanently.
