No it’s been 133 882 for a few months now
I notice 4BC is using “Eight, Eighty Two” for 882, unlike 4BH which was always “Eight Eight Two”.
4BH on the other hand is sticking with the traditional “Triple One Six” (formerly used by 4BC).
Just a lucky dip for a memorable number. It came about at the same time as Triple M’s 1333 53 as they rolled out numbers for the Today and Triple M networks in the early 2000s. Probably somewhat a response to Nova having a shorter number.
Prior to this Melbourne stations had 1300 numbers and I believe the other cities had local numbers.
1800 15 11 00 is the only nation number I recall which was used by the Hot 30, and is still around today and used for the odd thing here and there such as sponsor competitions and most recently Little Fox.
I just called it (since it was also used by Lube Mobile), someone from 3AW answered.
Lube Mobile’s number was (and still is) 13 30 32.
Shows you the perils of having similar sounding numbers!
Yes, I often get them mixed us as they sound very similar. Maybe 3AW should use 131 693 if it isnt taken
Some coverage for both 2GB and 3AW in The Australian’s Media Diary.
2GB presenters Ben Fordham, Ray Hadley and Deb Knight all took a swing at NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet on their programs last week. Ray Hadley called Perrottet a “dickhead”, and accusing him of “bastardry” and “lies”, following his announcement that travel to regional NSW won’t be allowed until November 1. Deputy Premier Paul Toole appeared on Fordham’s show, where Fordham ordered him to “apologise to the NSW electorate for betrayal”. Deb Knight called the regional travel delay the premier’s “first big failure”.
Meanwhile in Melbourne, Diary reports that Neil Mitchell and his senior producer Heidi Murphy have been blocked by the wife of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, Cath Andrews, on Twitter. Mitchell told Diary, “Perhaps the family that bans together stays together. I am now banned by both the Premier and the First Lady.” Neil says he doesn’t understand why Mrs Andrews would block him, because he’s been neither obscene or threatening.
Ffs. The Australian can’t help itself. This isn’t even “new” news. It was a beat up doing the rounds last year about who Mrs Andrews chooses to block. The wife of Premier can use Twitter however she likes. Who gives a rats if she blocked Mitchell etc. She doesn’t need to justify anything to him and it’s none of his business. Even if Dan himself chose to do same, he’s not obliged to let Mitchell know why.
I see The Australian continues to break new grounds and dig further down the barrel for quality reports ![]()
What time and channels are these seen @TV.Cynic ? Only on 9’s channels?
“Is heading”? Shouldn’t it read, “has headed”?
As for 2GB leaning a little further left than usual, could this be due to them seeing 2SM’s Marcus Paul becoming a stronger threat?
It only takes one other station to create some healthy competition. Finally.
As seen on 9 around midday.
Great, thanks @TV.Cynic , good to know.
Yes, should be complete rewrite of the script.
Rumour file saiid AW js getting a new talkback number this morning.
Is it 133 693 or 131 693?
There’s really no problem with 96 900 693 & 13 13 32, but I guess it makes sense to change for consistency with 2GB.
That’s terrible if Australian radio loses the famous 13 13 32 open line number.
Likely down to cost I would imagine.
