As mentioned in the Nova thread this morning Ray Hadley is broadcasting remotely today and is in isolation.
Fitzy and Wippa came into Ray’s studio unannounced on Wednesday, and they have had contact with Richard Wilkins who tested positive to Covid19 last night.
Ray said it is precautionary, he did not say if he has been tested for Covid19 on his show this morning.
In Wuhan at the start of it all, I think they tried to not worry about it (it’s just a cold like Chris said). Look what happened. Some younger people have died for example that doctor in Wuhan who warned people of the virus was pretty young.
Chris debated with a caller , who expressed concern if a large police station got one case of the virus. Chris seems to think it wasn’t much of an issue it’s what sick leave is for.
We hope he is right that this virus is a storm in a teacup. His concern is destroying the economy for this virus which is a minor illness for most people.I understand where he comes from on the second point. But the world is taking this very seriously so I guess we have no choice to follow. Like Ray and Alan work from home too.
My wish is that all these (right wing) shock jocks stay home permanently! What does it matter what these idiots think of Coronavirus and how it’s being handled. Hopefully they’re not misleading some of the elderly who listen to them. Anyone wanting proper details on the virus should listen to the ABC!
I notice 3AW newsreaders have changed the way they begin and close the bulletins. On Monday, they ended the bulletin with “(current time), and that’s all in news and sport” instead of the dry “(current time), this is Nine News” but went back to the latter yesterday. Then from yesterday, they read the top three headlines before the main bulletin.
2GB has changed as well. Start the bulletin with “It’s 5:30, good morning, I’m (insert name here)” then the top three news stories as opposed to “Nine News at 5:30…”
Chris changed his tune a bit today, at least it appears he is agreeing with the idea that the 70 years or older group of people don’t go out to the local supermarkets.
Christopher should stop giving medical advice. Mind you, he is upset that with all these social distancing rules he will find it more difficult to grope female colleagues at work parties.
Deborah Knight must be breathing a sigh of relief.
Neil Mitchell has just announced at the end of his show this morning that he is having a medical procedure tomorrow (brought forward from Easter on doctor’s advice), so he will be off air for 2-3 days but hopes to be back by the end of this week. Tony Jones will fill in for Neil.
