Yes, always thought that. Begin in nights like Stan Zemanek. In fact, Kyle should begin during summer 8 - midnight for a week or two. Stir up the drunk or prescription drug addled callers, get some actors to call in like Bryan Wiseman was paid for Stan’s show and off you go.
It might but it’s likely to initially rate less than the current John & Garry pairing, especially with little to no external marketing.
It won’t work in Brisbane. 4TAB run a great general sports breakfast show from 5 - 8:30am. They have done OBs also in recent years, more than what you’ll ever see from MRN: zero. @4TAB-1008kHz

Jag3146 at the time you tuned into 1278 you were too early for MacQuarie Sports Radio. I was earlier than you were jag3146 I turned into 1278 on Monday at 8,14PM i did not complain i knew I tuned into Talking Lifestyle at that time.
They’re interviewing Ray Hadley now…that’s enough for me, switched off, back to the Big Sports Breakfast.
I can envisage an EON Sports Radio / MTR style on air axing in about 6-8 months. I’d hope I’m wrong but I wouldn’t put money on this station lasting.

That would mean they’ve sent MRN totally flat broke, where they know to continue would be to trade insolvent. With AW and GB propping the network up, I doubt it’ll burn that much.
But the mass sackings as seen with 1278, 2UE and 4BC/BH will happen again. They’re all numbers and not real people to MRN mis-management.
Radio TAB sports breakfast won’t feel too troubled about this.
Radio TAB does not even Rate in Brisbane, Sky Sports Radio just about Rates zero in Sydney & RSN Does not even Rate In Melbourne hence the reason yiu cannot compare MacQuarie Sports Radio to those Radio Stations.
They’re not in the survey because they’re a specialist format. Their station and business model is not suited to the survey methodology that works for conventional stations. They use other research benchmarks.
@Jason_Andrew_Toppin please take some time to learn and understand how radio works before shooting off with your ‘oracle comments’, I find them quite amusing, others might think you’re making an embarrassment of yourself.

With the new format, perhaps the very last remaining legacy of 2UE (the station name “2UE LIFESTYLE”) has disappeared with the station name now naturally being “Macquarie Sports” on Sydney DAB+.
Or perhaps offer some insights so that we can know “how radio works”. We all have differing levels of knowledge and are in places like this so we can find out more

My thoughts, I wanted to hear what was happening on the harbour bridge. A few years ago they probably would of had a reporter on the ground. Harbour bridge closed…

The content is up the creek from day one.
Some bloke on now talking about an indigenous program for sport. Whilst worthy, it’s hardly the burning issue of sport this morning, more summer style filler. Not compelling radio, not going to hold an audience.
Save that for their cousin Fairfax publications the SMH or Age who seem to thrive such obscurity.
Yes I just tuned in now for the first time and he just went on and on and on. It’s not midnight to dawn.

David Morrow and Tiffany Cherry are doing well so far with Commonwealth Games content and availability of people to talk to as a result.
The video stream shows just David and a panel op in the Sydney studio, with Tiffany coming from the Melbourne studios.

You can hear that Tiffani sounds a bit different, I presumed she was in another city. I flicked to SEN who were taking calls and texts, sounded more lively.
Please don’t assume when I tuned in Jason! I tuned into a boring sports station that I won’t tune into during the day and if I want to listen to Talk Sport UK during the night, I’ll listen to their app on my iPad. So please don’t play your fanboi Macquarie nonsense with me Jason. The station sounded boring and crap as IMO most things connected with this company do! They were calling it “Macquarie Sports Radio” breakfast but played the Talking Lifestyle jingle going into the news.
