Nine Radio (Music)

As far a I know Nine Media/Ace Radio said Early 2021 for the Takeover. They never set a exact date for it

Where did you get your info that ace is taking over on 1st Jan from @thesub1 ?

I just assumed they’d keep it clean and go from Jan 1.

I think I saw February mentioned somewhere

Motty long gone from consulting ACE…I’m hearing they weren’t listening.

With Stevie Jacobs jumping ship from Nine to Ten I guess his days with Nine Radio are about to end.

Bit presumptuous to speculate and he hasn’t jumped ship at all, he’s merely filling in.

He likely doesn’t have a network contract anymore and his only commitment is Nine Radio which wouldn’t exclude him from taking other on-air opportunities as they arise.

What is Stevie doing on TV?

Roving reporter on Studio 10 for the week.

Rossco is partially right though! There is no doubt his days at Nine Radio are about to end. The way it is at the moment is very lazy radio. Seriously the sooner ACE take over the better. You can lock in Trevor Sinclair, Mardi and Gareth.

Trevor Sinclair on Both 3mp and Magic 1278? He is currently doing evenings on 3mp’

Even some network programming with live announcing would be better than what 2UE has now

I am talking about 2UE for Trevor, without a doubt. He will probably be heard across the 4BH and Magic network but you can lock in a prime shift on 2UE.

Well he works from his Home Studio in Sydney so can turn up anywhere anytime. Perhaps Tim Webster could move also.

Ace could try to get John Tamb and Eddie Olek to re join 3mp or Magic
who recently joined 2ch

John Tamb was originally doing Breakfast on 3mp before SEN took it over and Eddie Olek was doing Afternoons I think

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned, but do Nine still own 2UE, Magic, 4BH etc? Or are ACE the full owners right now?

Yes Nine own the frequencies and will continue to do so.

They have been leased to ACE who I think have taken over already if I am not wrong as they are currently hiring sales staff and managers in Sydney and Brisbane.

You do realise that when PACIFIC STAR took the licence back for SEN from Danny Staffieri that they already owned 3MP. No John Tamb was there for quite a while (back to the 3AK DAYS, prior to the SEN conversion) and possibly longer than anyone associated with 3AK/SEN/3MP. Doubt whether Mark Taylor or JV would give them a gig.

Not yet, but soon. They are hiring staff in anticipation for their lease starting in February I think.

Fair enough. Hopefully it will be a new line up with announcers from 6am to 12am.

You’d think they’d follow their 3MP model, which would mean at least voice tracked announcers 6am-midnight
