With all the attention being on 4BC, has anybody listened to 4BH lately?
Are they making mention of the switch?
Or will it be just like waking up one morning and hearing talkback like the Talking Lifestyle launch?

I haven’t heard any mention of it at all on air on 4BH as yet… But I’m not surprised.
If 4BH had live/local announcers, I’d imagine there’d be more significant on-air mentions of the upcoming frequency change. But since it’s pretty much a totally automated station, it wouldn’t overly surprise me if the switch on their end is a straight signal cut.
Maybe we just wait 3wks for the latest recording of Stevie/Lavinia to make mention of it?
Wouldn’t surprise me either. They’ll most likely do that to see if they can get any 4BH listeners to stick to 4BC 882 - that’s how delusional they are I think. They’ll probably then just mention on 4BC that if you really, REALLY still want music then move to 1116.
Further to this, yesterday I did hear a promo on 4BH advertising the frequency change to 1116. With ‘‘Moving on up’’ by the M-people as the background music…
That’s good, I hadn’t heard much as yet. Also as of today their website says nothing of it, unlike 4BC’s. A bit disappointing
4BC could use Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m Going Down” as the backing track for their frequency change promo.
Also, does anyone know the name of the bland announcer who voices all of those Vinyl Revivals and Back In The Day Cafe? Is he someone well known?
Trevor Smith. May as well dump the other presenters and just have him if Nine are going to lean so heavily on his content. You hear from him way too much and you can tell that his content is all generic. Would be better to just run ads instead of his crap all the time.
Finally hearing a few promotions on 4BH about the upcoming frequency change to 1116 (or “Triple One Six” as the promo puts it). Put to the tune of “Moving On Up”. Stating that the change will happen from 8am this Friday.

Yes I’ve been hearing those too.
“Triple One Six” is how they have always referred to 1116 4BC.
Has it really been always Triple One Six?
I thought I’ve heard it be Eleven Sixteen (or maybe I’ve been listening to SEN Melbourne too much).

Definitely Triple One Six in the old days anyway. Even back in the 90s it definitely was. Must admit I don’t listen to 4BC much lately.
From a few years ago.
Mind you, they’re hardly ramming it home for a station that changes tomorrow. I’ve been listening a bit this morning and yet to hear anything about the change, but plenty of IDs still referencing ‘4BH 882’. I feel some of the 3+% of radio listeners are in for a rude shock tomorrow morning…

Agree. And how many of them will find 693 instead of 1116
Hopefully someone will record 882am and 1116am switch over tomorrow morning
With all the comments being made here, I wonder if “4BH 882” IDs might still be played after the station has moved to 1116AM?
Even though there’s apparently been the occasional promo set to the tune of M People’s “Movin’ On Up”, it wouldn’t massively surprise me if we just hear a straight signal cut tomorrow morning. Mid-song silence, followed by “…and welcome to the all new 4BC 882” from Neil Breen.
And ratings wise, I definitely think the 4BC/4BH frequency switch will result in 4KQ getting more than the 0.8% (as per the results of Survey #6, released today) they need to become Brisbane’s #1 radio station overall.
I am thinking about the easier way to record AM radio - haven’t really done it for a while!
I’ve been recording bits of both 882 and 1116 today for nostalgia’s sake. I will try and record 882 as it switches tomorrow morning.
Just set up 882 with a good signal and was wondering if we could get AM Stereo on 1116 after the switch but just checked and saw that 4BC doesn’t have a stereo pilot anymore.
