I heard that one too, it’s the newest song I’ve heard as well.
It’s probably a bit TOO new, perhaps they should stick to songs that are at least 5 or so years old, make it more of wider and more varied “Pure Gold” format.
Would like to hear some themed music programming eg. a “Ten From Then” with 10 songs from a certain year, 80s hour, double shots etc. Perhaps this will all come in good time.
Ive been flicking through your sumo fm Spotify list this morning mr nerd. Some great stuff in there.
Ha I caught that one yesterday too. I must admit Im liking this new 2UE. Fix up the errors and do a proper launch and you have a decent station.
Im noticing “Tieline swish” all over 954am also. Perhaps that’s the STL these days?
Listening to the stream at work the other day, the audio was very processed… I must admit I like the “wall of sound”, reminded me of radio in the 90s. Got very fatigued listening after half hour though.
A World of Our Own by The Seekers, 1965, followed by And We Danced by The Hooters, 1985. I doubt you would hear that on any other Australian radio station.
Yes, it’s a real breath of fresh air, this music mix to Sydney radio. I compare this format to i98 FM when it first went FM in 90s. Although i98 had much more of a variety of shows with announcers, 70s Sunday night, classic 9 at nine, classic triple shots across the day etc. No where as budget as the new 2ue. But that was a different era.
This might be the wrong thread to post this. But since Macquarie Sports Radio was rebranded as 2UE in it’s music format. Of the little bit i have heard it has the news on the hour but sounds to me like they have no ads.
I know these stations are being done on the cheap, but could they not have lashed out a tiny bit on some original logos and not just re-hash the old bland ones these stations had?
