How is that possible given Adelaide is 30 minutes behind Melbourne? Does FiveAA have news at 9.30am as well?
I think they have a 9:30 news. The news was also fairly short so I assume it wasnt the 9am on delay

Very weird given that 5AA isn’t part of the Nine Radio network (it’s still owned by Nova as far as I know).

They use Nine syndication to distribute news and the Leon Byner program to regional stations

There is a National State News SA listed on Nine Radio Syndication’s website: https://www.mmsyndication.com.au/programming-and-services/South-Australia-News
This might just be FiveAA’s own news syndicated out via Nine to SA regional stations.

I will listen to Magic for music NOT Talking Lifestyle! I hope that format is gone forever. Nor do I want to hear anyone from 3AW breakfast. If I choose not to listen to AW then I prefer not to hear their presenters on another station. Gavin Wood was a good voice over guy for Countdown, on the radio, not so good.
I am waiting for the 12 noon news today to see if they can get it right. For the past two days they’ve broadcast the same news.

After messing up the 10am news (as mentioned above) and having a couple of minutes of dead air before the 11am news then a minute of dead air after it, I wouldn’t hold my breath

No they played the same news again! That’s now 3 days in a row with the same news. They would be better to do without news if they cannot get it right. I have just emailed them to complain about their lack of technical knowledge. Will post reply if I get one!

It is a shame… We’re all willing them to do well, given the music mix in general is liked by the people on this forum. It feels like they are failing on the most simple things.
Today how is the sound in of 4bh/magic? Has it improved? Does the online stream sound better?

If whoever picks the music (Matt White) could also be given the responsibility of monitoring all stations that’d be a big help.
90% of the time I find it’s not too bad. Just little things like the music sounding too loud as it starts beneath the traffic reports.
I do however really like the use of their imaging. A good start.
And I’ll say it again, 2SM should really had done this 10 years ago and relaunched 2SMUSIC.

I guess if anything, at least there’s not weeks of total silence like we hear on 2SMs digital stations.

Yeah I think they need one for 2ue news. I hope the dab sound has improved for the other states.

Melbourne sounds better on DAB+ since they increased the bit rate. But the music could still sound better.
I think we suspect the music is still played out of Sydney on a low-fi link. Ads, news, traffic and IDs sound higher quality than the music at the moment.

I’ve noticed a new change to 2UE today.
They’re now using the station VO saying, “Sydney’s 2UE 954” over the top of the 9News intro (similar to 2GB).
