Nine On-Air Presentation

Nine’s watermark disappeared in Sydney tonight at the start of The Equalizer. There was an error to start with - it appeared too early underneath the classification. Then when the coloured animation finished it was gone. Melbourne is normal.

Update: It’s back.

Came to post that this has occurred on Nine Perth HD tonight, and hasn’t returned yet:

Sounds like a timing issue - the “toggle” trigger got out of step… so the toggle on was actually off.

Was the bug on the breaks?

What happened to that line that rolled off the tongue the networks were using, mainly Seven:

Live, Free and HD.

“Live, Free and… Great”. Just sounds odd, like ‘great’ is a feature of the telecast, they’d better deliver on that then

Gotta say I really dislike the flat logo, as much as I dislike the 9 logo as a whole, 3D is much nicer

It does not work on the ender there.

Another flat logo, in red.

This is where I agree that the flat logo doesn’t work.
If they do eventually go completely flat (which I doubt) they’ll need to rework their entire graphics package so it doesn’t have this mishmash and flat and glossy styles as above.

MAFS

Appropriately, no flat logo.

It’s not a “Television Event” - it’s just another BBC documentary series and not even the first; it’s number II.

but is it the BIGGEST SUNDAY IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION EVER TO HAVE HAPPENED?

I bet the ratings would say no.

I find it interesting that some of the print promos on Ch9 social etc are using an old Ch9 logo that previously hasn’t been used for many years if you look at the logo in this picture.

they can’t seem to decide which version they want to use or their design and promo departments are all working without speaking to each other. thats why I feel they need a new design language.

You get nearly the same logo when you take the 3D version of the 9 logo and fill it to a solid colour and shrink it down, depending on the scaling algorithms it might look even closer than the example here:

Sure it’s not the same, but I don’t think you can read too much into it.

I would like it if Nine fixed some of the missteps that their current logo, I think they had perfection just before the square logo, because they balanced the size of the dots with the size of the 9, so basically if you dragged a dot around you could trace the rest of the 9 logo, whereas the current one has oversized dots and squared off insides.

Also see the NRL topic for the same and similar graphics.
