As discussed in Today Extra - Nine having playout issues, unable to finish the broadcast of Today Extra and watermark not working correctly (subsequently fixed).
Update: Nine Morning News made it to air at 11:30 am
The morning news isn’t from Melbourne where the issue seems to be from.
I think the issue is the playout for the news is coming from Melbourne during the Olympics despite it being presented from Sydney, issues were likely resolved in time for the morning news.
The issue started from Today Extra at around 9:20am which is coming from Melbourne this week so it was a Melbourne issue.
There was also the additional issue of the watermark staying opaque and playing across the top of adverts.
Just confirming the 3D Nine logo hasn’t been seen since the Olympics began?
We still thinking pres relaunch on Monday or Tuesday?
If there was a presentation relaunch incoming, I would have thought Nine would have previewed whatever graphical style they were going to use by now via the post-Olympic program promotions, etc. So unless they are intending to reveal everything on Monday, I would say it would be a long shot because they are still using the 2D logos with the current package on all promos that I’ve seen.
That being said, I feel that hints were already being dropped when Nine News relaunched and that any new package would probably draw heavily from the news package (animation styles, etc.) but would be centred around the 2D branding.
I’m doubtful of any relaunch. They just plonked the 2D logo onto the existing package months ago and it doesn’t seem that will change.
Heck, some of the promos still use the 3D-logo animation with the 2D logo as the final frame of it.
I think Today might receive a refresh, but thats about it.
Very much needed IMO.
Hopefully the multis get a refresh as well. Very dated.
