Nine News Presenters and Reporters

Seems more and more likely that Nine aren’t going to get a permanent weather replacement here in Sydney.

Yesterday Sophie Walsh, today Maggie Raworth.

I think TCN might be testing to see who might be fit for not just the weeknight weather presenter but also that of the weekend sports presenter as well.

Isn’t Emma Lawrence the weekend sport presenter? Either way not sure how long it takes to appoint since the cut came in November.

They’ve been alternating between Emma Lawrence, Zac Bailey and Matt Burke (ex-Ten News sports presenter) in recent weeks, as far as I know.

Speaking of Lawrence - she’s just announced that she is expecting her second child soon.

Why not? Child birth shouldn’t (and legally can’t I believe) influence management decision.

Looking over someone because they are pregnant is not a legitimate reason to refuse someone a promotion in the modern workplace (and probably isn’t legal either)

Zac Bailey has been filling in quite awhile now on the weekends

Notably absent on this year’s Australian Open coverage.

It appeared Georgie Parker replaced her this summer and she was terrible.

The play school host/home and away actress?

Obviously not.

Madeline Spark was overlooked for the weekday role vacated by Livinia Nixon after being asked to reapply for the job.

Spark had been reassured while a guest in the network’s marquee during the Melbourne Cup Carnival that she didn’t need to audition for what she thought was a firm succession plan.

It was while Spark was later on leave that she was asked to apply for the role she’d been doing for the past seven years.

When the Biggs decision was revealed in a press release Spark learnt she missed out just 20 minutes prior.

After more than 11 years with Nine as a reporter and presenter, it was a dose of unexpected turbulence for the ever bright and well liked Spark.

She is staying with the weekend bulletins presenting weather and reporting on Postcards, and it’s understood she wants to do more presenting work.

This still pisses me off lol. I hate when companies do this, in my experience it’s a piss take. Despite being a relief fill in/ weekend presenter she still had to prove herself to Nine bosses despite being in the role for 7 years and a known face to Melbourne viewers.

As much as I agree with you, It’s just Standard Operational Procedure

HR departments require strict adherence to any & all employment processes, they would cop far more flack if they had short cut procedures & just gave her the position.
