It just feels wrong having Nat Yoannidis who’s in her 30’s in the sports chair on weekends with Peter Hitchener who’s nearly 79 on news. That’s why I’d like it if they had Tony Jones present sport Saturday-Wednesday. Clint Stanaway or Nathan Currie would present sport Thursdays and Fridays.
The weekend news would be a whole lot better if Tony Jones and Livinia Nixon were at the desk with Peter Hitchener.
This year Melbourne has lost 4 sport reporters. Those being Braden Ingram (replaced by Nathan Currie), Joshua Dawe, Alicia Muling and Xander McGuire (replaced by no one) I wonder if we’ll see Nathan Currie or Nat Yoannidis present sport on weeknights over the Christmas and New Year period.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Nine’s senior reporter Airlie Walsh, currently on maternity leave, filed a Human Rights sexual discrimination case in the Federal Court last week.
Brett maintained Nine’s lead in the Melbourne market winning 266,000 to 242,000 in total TV numbers. Also won in broadcast TV. That was slightly higher than the same as the previous Monday’s result.
Brett McLeod accepted my follow request on Instagram and I sent him this lovely message. He hasn’t got back to me yet. Who knows if he will?
Hi Brett, it’s great to have you back in Australia presenting Nine News in the lead up to Christmas, you’re doing an amazing job.
I’m a loyal Nine News viewer and I have enjoyed Alicia Loxley and Tom Steinfort presenting this year. They had great on air chemistry with each other and with Tony Jones and Livinia Nixon also. I met Tom in March this year when he was presenting on location in Ballarat the day Samantha Murphy had been announced murdered. I then met him again with Alicia at the Royal Melbourne Show in September when they were doing a meet and greet. I also met Livinia in July when she was presenting the weather in Ballarat for the Winter Festival.
I’ve enjoyed watching Peter Hitchener on weekends, but it’s not the same without Tony Jones and Livinia Nixon being at the desk with him, and I miss the banter between him and Tony also.
Thanks for accepting my follow request and keep up the good work presenting in the lead up to Christmas.
