@Kevin right on the ball again.
Fantastic move by Nine. Certainly seeing the results in Adelaide with their 5PM bulletin.
Certainly solves the presenter shortage of Nine Perth in the short-term.
Any chances they could get the likes of Mark Gibson across to Nine News Perth as a reporter/presenter? That would make the ultimate Today Tonight reunion at Nine.
Definitely expected news that this would happen after her finishing at 10. Seems as though Nine are using the somewhat successful Adelaide model to take away viewers from 10.
Will be good to see Monika on our screens again, 3 networks in the space of pretty much 12 months is quite rare lol.
So Perth is also relocating Hot Seat to 4pm, similarly to Adelaide or has this already happened?
She seems an expensive acquisition (even working across Nine Radio too) to just present the 5pm bulletin but no doubt sheâll be a good fill in for Michael when needed.
Sheâll now go head to head with Narelda during the week for the 5pm news hour, the numbers will be very interesting come next week.
If Monika is so sought after by 10 and 9, makes me wonder why 7 gave her up to begin with?
Probably only because there were no available slots for her.
Rick and Sue werenât going anywhere at 6pm, neither was Angela Tsun on weekends.
And Sam Jolly does the 4pm news + 6pm weather.
Not the best News for 10. I thought Perth would go the same way as Adelaide. I think itâs a good idea.
Interesting, and not surprised that Nine picked her up. Weâll wait and see if the ratings impact both 7 and 9.
But the downside to this is that Hot Seat will sink even further if itâs pushed to 4pm.
Iâm not a fan of 2 game shows back to back and then 2 news shows back to back. But it looks like itâs working in Adelaide.
At the start of the year, Nine Adelaide swapped the Afternoon News with Hot Seat timeslots. Hot Seat started at 4PM in Adelaide and AFternoon News at 5PM. Nine News Adelaide started to increase ratings.
Now, Perth pushed the Afternoon News to 5PM. With Mon Kos joining Nine, hope that Nine News Perth will turn things around. Thommo has worked at Nine Perth for 40 years and he should commit to 6pm news. With the changes, Nine News Perth will start to boost its ratings, (especially in the 55+ demographics) in its 6pm.
Agree - especially when the 5pm bulletin a) Has nearly the same content as the 6pm bulletin and b) In the bits where it doesnât, often teases stories that will air at 6pm
Love him or hate him. Enjoy his âlarrikinismâ or not, heâs quite a good news presenter. My first time catching him regularly this year.

Thursday (03.12.2020 - Friday (04.12.2020): Lizzie Pearl is presenting the Morning News and Sydneyâs Afternoon News.
Is Davina Smith on holidays? She hasnât presented yet from North Sydney.
Davinaâs husband is in the army, so she is currently a single parent hence her staying at home to look after her young child.
Not sure if that counts as âholidaysâ though.
Note: I mentioned this as a possible reason for her absence last week or the week before. I donât have confirmation, itâs just an assumption. Maybe she is on her holidays. She could be filling in on TODAY again this year - so maybe sheâs taking her time off prior to that.
So whatâs happening with Louise Momber now Monika Kos is taking the chair from Monday at 5:00?
Different topic but sheâs resigned and is moving to Canberra. Thatâs why Monika was recruited to replace her.
