Forget it. Such a drama out of nothing. Let’s go back to commenting on who’s filling in for who on every program and topic thread here.
I agree with everything that you have said.
Considering how all this is supposedly meant to be ‘normal’, I certainly don’t remember Peter Overton taking anywhere near as many days off before Cameron Williams resigned from the network.
Isn’t the main weekday newsreader meant to present the 6pm bulletin for at least 5 days a week after all, like I don’t know…maybe Peter Hitchener or Mark Ferguson? Funny that.
Such dramatics from only… you.
That’s all I was saying……
Interesting piece, I never really thought of Jones replacing Hitch when he retires. I always thought someone like a Alicia Loxley or Brett Mcleod. But it’s great to know that Alicia Loxley will take from Hitch when he retries, she is a fantastic newsreader.
Why does he keep going on about this? It’s irrelevant what he supposedly realised. “Alicia Loxley had been anointed to take over…” regardless of Tony’s realisation.
Sure but it doesn’t mean it’s not a decent feature story. I’m sure there are plenty of people who’ve been in a similar situation to the one Tony has been whereby they’ve wanted/worked hard for a long time to get another position only to realise that might not be what they really want.
Bronte Gildea presented sport on the Gold Coast all last week for the first time I believe. Eva was the solo newsreader for the week.
Kate Creedon is presenting Saturday weather in Sydney.
Georgie has presented 6 days straight this week
I thought she did better than Sally Pearson is doing on 7.
Agree - Bronte Gildea was very good this week while Sally Pearson still very stilted.
Who the heck was the sport reporter on Nine Melbourne just now.
Never seen him before and he was stumbling real hard during his live cross.
Yeah, it was noticably bad. Looked like his first ever live to air read and the nerves got the better of him.
Sam Phillips, he’s just shifted from SMH to Nine earlier this week (first on air report was yesterday).
Oh dear.
And to think he’s Corey Norris’ replacement. I think even Sean Sowerby’s better than this guy.
That’s a bit harsh to already jump to conclusions like that. It was his first live cross.
That was really hard to watch. Feel sorry for him to be honest.
