Thursday -
Alicia Loxley presenting Melbourne Afternoon News from South Melbourne Beach.
What for? Any reason?
She has been broadcasting this afternoon with Tony Jones the Royal visit here in Melbourne and the royals did go to South Melbourne beach.
Pete is better than Mark though.
I get that Sophie Walsh is covering the Royal Tour, but where’s Jayne Azzopardi? She’d be a better fill-in newsreader than either Peter Stefanovic or Mark Burrows IMO!
Dominique Loudon and Michael Atkinson will be sharing the Brisbane sport presenting role Friday- Sunday for the next few weeks.
She was covering John Howard and the seat of Wentworth today.
Not a lot of journalists like being stuck behind the desk presenting… some rather be chasing news out on the field. Which is probably be the case for Jane.
Friday -
Deb Knight is back presenting in Sydney tonight.
Also, Davina Smith is (thankfully…after the two shocking newsreaders we’ve had to endure this week!) presenting this afternoon’s Nine News Sydney at 4pm. I presume she also read this morning’s national 11.30am bulletin.
Isn’t that a bit harsh? They definitely deserve to present the bulletins IMO, and they don’t do too bad a job either.
Each to their own, but I personally think Peter Stefanovic & Mark Burrows should stick to reporting.
You make that clear very regularly, we get it.
(19/10/2018) Michael Atkinson presenting sport in Brisbane on the 4pm and 6pm bulletins this Friday.
And at 6pm. He and Dom Loudon will be presenting weekend sport until they find a permanent replacement for Sam Squiers.
As said here:
Tonight saw a rare appearance of Chris Uhlmann on the Nine News Sydney set, doing a short piece related to their Wentworth by-election coverage:
Fast forwarding to the top of the 2nd block and TCN got Gabrielle Boyle travelling to a remote property “an hour out of Moree” (not exactly sure where other than that quote, although in any case likely a long way away from anywhere that can watch Nine News Sydney on terrestrial TV) for a report PTC about the arrest of someone over the disappearance & murder of a woman from Wallarah on the NSW Central Coast:
Now to be fair the story wasn’t entirely “Sydneyfication” of Regional NSW coverage because Wallarah & Tuggerah (train station where the woman was last seen/her car was found) in the Nine News Sydney viewing area. But still rather intriguing nonetheless…
Corey Norris presenting sport on First At Five News and Melbourne News this weekend.
(20/10/2018) Dominique Loudon and Aislin Kriukelis presenting sport and weather respectively in Brisbane this Saturday. Luke Bradnam returned for the weather on Sunday.
Any idea what is next for Sam Squiers.
