Stephanie Anderson presenting in Melbourne. It appears she’s a fill-in for Dougal Beatty, they got Peter Hitchener to record a voiceover for her, so I doubt it’s a one-off.

Tim has great potential imo. He’s certainly a credible journalist given his awards wins and his US posting.
I think his delivery certainly needs work (I’ve found him very shouty and his tone is quite serious, even for lighter stories, all thing that will improve with experience), but if QTQ are smart they can start to use him as a fill in for Jono, or even PT on the Darwin news and build up his presenter profile a bit.
I do wonder why they didn’t use Ebony Cavallaro though. She has filled in on weather duties for the past few years over the summer and has been with 9 for over a decade. Instead she’s filing stories and on weather tonight.

They could also give the likes of Jessica Millward a go at news. Reece D’Alessandro and Natarjsha Kramer also have the potential to be great newsreaders if their reporting styles are anything to go by.
Tim’s style on the other hand is reminiscent of Adam Hegarty and Alison Ariotti. So sensationalist and shouty that you need to watch with minimum volume.

No shortage of Talent at 9, and good talent might I add. Seven has issues on that front.
Steph did a sensational job.
You know what’s also good. Seeing all those sets across all the states. The consistency is top notch. No half arsed sets in every state.

Edward Godfrey’s not a great newsreader with the over use of hand gestures and his tone is slightly shouty. Would be nice to see Tom Rehn, Jessica Braithwaite or Chelsea Carey do a 6pm bulletin sometime soon.

Yes it certainly is an odd fit for him, he’s very stilted.
