“Sure, yeah,” the actor replied, before adding, “I don’t know how much I’ll miss this,” gesturing vaguely at the extravagant red carpet event unfolding behind him.
“Maybe. We’ll see. I’ll think about it tomorrow.”

Daniel Craig’s thinly veiled contempt for red carpet and even the James Bond franchise as a whole has been evident for some time. It’s just who he is.

Yes. As did I. That dry British humour. He’s had worse exchanges! And clearly he’s not an actor that courts the publicity.
For me, it was the way he answered the Q about who should replace him
“Not my problem”.
He just comes across as a snob.
Again, probably thought he was being funny.
Related but unrelated, but I’m not certain 9 has made good choices of their overseas correspondents of late.

Not sure I agree…Brett is one of Nine’s most well-established and trusted names. The fact that they managed to get someone so senior to uproot their lives and move over there in the middle of a pandemic is a major kudos to the network.

Surprisingly, Peter Overton is presenting tonight’s Sydney 6pm bulletin.
Thought he might’ve taken this week off (with Georgie Gardner presenting tonight), as the case had been around this time of year since 2018.
