Probably getting the studio ready for the debate at 7:30pm. Rehearsals etc. ensuring David and Steven are comfortable etc.
Then it is likely coming from the Gold Coast, or they are using the Darwin studio, and Darwin is coming from the GC studio.
Paul was in Brisbane for an update.
News with cross to the news studio being used for the debate.

Wouldn’t be surprised if QTQ news came out of Canberra tonight.
?
Paul Taylor presented it, and he is based in QLD - more than likely that the bulletin was done from the small studio that Darwin uses.
Christine has an amazing 20 years at Nine after being forced out of the ABC, because of the latter’s decision at the time to have a national sports presenter (Peter Wilkins) on the 7pm state bulletins rather than local presenters. Aunty’s loss is Nine’s gain basically.
Oh right… did she read the weekend ABC Melbourne news at the time?
Probably not but it’s now an option isn’t it.
Christine Ahern reporting on Lleyton Hewitt’s marathon all-nighter 5 setter starting at midnight back in January 2008 (also a look at the network/GTV’s set, look and a former fill-in presenter):

Beth Excell presenting the 4pm bulletin in Adelaide, Tom Rehn presented yesterday’s.
Reporters in full suits and ties out in the field often look ridiculous and out of touch.
Plus they are near a war zone - would need to be pretty light and mobile.
Also would be very warm.
Agree, a collared tieless business shirt and trousers are all that’s needed by a reporter.
I think newsreaders in the studio should wear a suit with a tie though. If they are presenting live on location, they could lose the jacket and/or tie depending on the weather and occasion eg. If presenting from a festival like the Brisbane Ekka.
