According to The Sunday Telegraph, Channel 9 has launched an investigation into a “heated” incident between Georgie Gardner and a junior staffer when she came off air after reading a bulletin last month.
A junior staff member made a complaint to the network, with some suggestions that this incident is the reason why Gardner was absent for the following two weekends.

Those that made those suggestions realised she was on scheduled leave.

Gardner:
“You’re wearing the same coloured jacket as me, we can’t both be wearing white in this newsroom!”
Junior staffer:
“Look, I’ve been flat out okay, just give me a break, I’ve been flat out”.
Gardner:
“Go get another jacket! This is unacceptable. Only I can be wearing this at any given time in this building”.
Staffer:
“Look, I can go hop on out of here if you like, I’ve got so many things I could be doing right now”.
Gardner:
“Yep, you go skedaddle on out of here then”.

I don’t think this is funny.
Something obviously happened that this staff member was so uncomfortable or upset that they made a complaint. Until we know (we probably never will) what the complaint was we should not really joke about it.

Had to read the DM article because it’s free and comments are all saying I bet this person is a Gen Z worker.
Could also be an inside job to get rid of Georgie and free up some money.
When I met her she was really nice to me, one of the hosts at the time to actually come up to me and ask me about myself unprompted.

I’ve always liked Georgie too, comes across as normal and down to earth, never been one to be the spotlight or network ‘A-lister’. Nine poached her at a good time too, she was going places at Seven.
