Couldn’t have said it better myself. He’s makes no secret that he is a RASKALL. It’s literally in his name. Jog on.
Mate he’s only started this act in recent years, you’re the one with issues about stereotypes and masculinity. I just think it’s a cheap attempt to further his career, hardly a controversial opinion to have but apparently this is your forum now. Write an essay then cut off the conversation if someone disagrees with you.
There’s a new guy on channel 10 who is a bit the same. It can come across as awkward TV like they are trying too hard.
Can we at least agree that given the ratings of Nine News in Melbourne, enough people in that city like (or at the very least, accept) Allan Raskall’s reporting style otherwise he just wouldn’t have a job on a TV news bulletin in what’s likely to be the most progressive city in the country?
Although the reporting style isn’t to everyone’s taste (and that’s fine - this forum would certainly be rather boring to read if there weren’t some differences in opinion), I’d also be willing to predict that Allan Raskall likely has some level of following amongst Melbourne’s LGBTI+ community. Had he been considered highly offensive to that group of people, you’d think Raskall would’ve been deplatformed by now.
Not sure if anyone picked this up last night, but Nine News (and former Seven News reporter, for that matter) reporter Natalia Cooper was featured in Seven News Melbourne’s report about the WA border re-opening.
Apologies for the poor picture quality
According to his socials, Rob Morrison has finished up at QTQ. That’s another loss for the Queensland newsroom.
I’m guessing Tim Arvier will be replacing him when he returns from the US in the new year.
Justine Conway is presenting weather in Melbourne this weekend. Maddie must be taking this weekend off as she will probably replace Livinia Nixon during the summer break starting Monday.
Quite possibly, though Morrison and Arvier did work together before the latter moved stateside.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Morrison jumped ship to either Seven or Ten.
Friday and Saturday
Mark Burrows is presenting in Sydney, with Rob Canning presenting sport
Natalia Cooper presenting weather on both the 4pm and 6pm bulletins
Probably tomorrow night as well.
You’d imagine that we’ll likely see GG start her stint in the main chair for Summer 2020-21 on Sunday?
Rob Canning presenting sport tonight.
Brett McLeod begins filling in for Alicia Loxley from this weekend.
Surprisingly, she was quite good.
As far as overseas correspondents go, I don’t think Arvier is very good.
Yeah he did some worthy reporting from the protests this year but generally speaking I found him more sensationalist than the other US correspondents (perhaps Nine News Queensland trained him quite a bit on that ). Alexis Daish and Amelia Adams are way better comparatively.
Though he must’ve impressed many since he did get a number of awards for his reporting in the US.
Sunday- Thursday (potentially for the next few weeks)
Georgie Gardner is presenting in Sydney,
Saturday (12.12.2020) - Sunday (13.12.2020): Adam Hegarty is presenting Brisbane’s news and sport again this weekend.
Ebony Cavallaro is doing Sunday’s weather.
Tuesday (15.12.2020) - Friday (18.12.2020):
Lizzie Pearl is presenting the national Morning News and Sydney’s Afternoon News.
Tim Davies is doing the Early News this week.
Agree, he’s a great news anchor (as well as sports presenter). I think the issue is that a lot of people don’t like his attitude.
In my mind he’s the perfect person to take over from Hitch, Alicia just doesn’t have the weeknight 6pm pull just yet.
