Who is she? GC News gets better treatment than most metro bulletins.
They’ve got 2 presenters, one does half the break the other does the rest, easy.
With Melbourne, it isn’t a case of sacking or replacing a presenter.
Hitch isn’t going anywhere and can potentially return after a few month if/when the experiment fails 
Interesting with the GC to get a new presenter rather than someone down from Brisbane. It seems that the reverse is potentially happening over the break with some of the Gold Coast readers, sport and weather potentially doing Brisbane.

I thought the same. His 30 years at Nine is up in December and recently he turned 75 which would have been a good time to bow out but alas, he keeps on going.

I hope tonight gets a big audience, even though he isn’t technically retiring and we’re in a 2023 FTA landscape. 10 years ago, more than 200k Melburnians tuned-in to see Mal Walden farewelled (probably peaked higher at the end), for that period, big for 10 News Melbourne, that bulletin was also flooded with special tributes throughout and the ending was emotional for them and viewers.
I would’ve thought there’d be a bit more buzz surrounding tonight though, perhaps not the greatest time of year/week, but I think Knoxy at TVT and Hitch has said he doesn’t really want the big fanfare and all. Just 66 likes for this big post from Nine social a couple of hours ago!? Should be hundreds:

Maybe interaction will pick up tonight and even post 7pm, we might even see Peter Hitchener trend online and anybody who misses can catch-up via digital videos of tonight.
I can’t imagine that Nine want to make too big a big thing about this, based on their previous actions.
