Yes, the Daily Telegraph has today reported that Cameron did have COVID 3 weeks ago but has still not been on air since.
There has been no explanation from Nine as yet as to why he is still absent, even though he was cleared to return to work 2 weeks ago.

I wonder if Nine will use this as an opportunity to take Jim Wilson off his low-rating 2GB Drive program and install him as Camās replacement at the news desk.
Canāt see James Bracey taking the weeknight chair permanently given his other commitments at the network. Also canāt see Emma Lawrence being given the weeknight role. Not sure about Roz Kelly - isnāt she part-time anyways?

I could see a scenario where they get James Bracey to do Sun-Thurs, and Emma Lawrence to do Fri-Sat, with Roz Kelly taking over Jamesā NRL duties and Sports Sunday. All 3 of them will probably share duties presenting WWOS events when they happen.

I could certainly see a situation where someone who kicks around in various roles takes up a higher paid and more prestigious role.
Didnāt Cam Williams resign a few years ago only to come back soon after Ken Sutcliffe retired? He has form in this area. Wonder what the go is with all of this.

It was only three weeks ago that James Bracey made his first appearance at the Sydney 6pm news desk as Erin Molanās replacement. Itās almost as if they had an inkling Williams could be on the way out and had tapped Bracey as his successor.

Another big loss from Channel 9 with Cam Williams departing the network after 16 years. During his career at the Nine Network he has contributed a lot on the Today Show, horse racing coverage, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Friday Night NRL until early 2016. But Cameron Williams has rejoined Nine at the end of 2016 when Ken Sutcliffe retired. Goodbye Cameron Williams, it has been a pleasure. I think James Bracey is likely to join sports presenter on Nine News Sydney.

If what TV Tonight is reporting is correct, Bracey is indeed moving to Sunday-Thursday and Emma Lawrence to Friday and Saturday.
Wonder what SydneyCityTV would be thinking about this, considering that he loved the āPete and Cam banterā.
