Mark Macgugan presenting sport in Melbourne this weekend
As James Bracey joins Nine in January, should we expect him to read Morning/Afternoon News and 6pm Sydney sport occasionally?
Given he is replacing Yvonne, Iād say if heās reading sport, it would be at 6pm, not on daytime bulletins.
I would say that he will do Saturday night sport in addition to being a fill-in for Cam.
Sunday (18.12.16) - Thursday (22.12.16) : Georgie Gardner is anchoring in Sydney.
Who? Nine must have struggled to replace Yvonne last minute.
Heās not very well known, but definitely a talent.
Saturday (17.12.16) - Sunday (18.12.16): Ebony Cavallaro presented the weather in Brisbane this weekend.
Monday (19.12.16): Deborah Knight presented the Early News this morning from the Today studio.
Mark Burrows is presenting Monday Morning & Afternoon News.
he was the main sports presenter for Sky News.
Sure. I know who he is but how many do.
people whoāve watched Sky News? Who knew who Erin Molan was before she came to 9?
Monday (19.12.16)-Tuesday (20.12.16): Melissa Downes is anchoring solo in Brisbane. Sam Squiers/Tom Mitchell was on sport with Ebony Cavallaro on weather.
Wednesday (21.12.16)- Friday (23.12.16): Melissa Downes is anchoring solo in Brisbane. Tom Mitchell presented sport with Zara James on weather.
She was a reporter once a week on the Sunday footy show. He is hosting the NRL. Bit different. But Iām sure Sky and their 3 viewers will know him.
No different to Mel McLaughlin when she joined Ten. She was unknown to the majority of viewers. 2.5yrs later she landed the plum sports presenter gig on 7.
Like all presenters/reporters who come from other media outlets or different markets, Iām sure that James Braceyās profile at Nine will be built up over time.
As far as Iām aware, Erin Molan was at WIN News Canberra for a few years before joining Nine Sydney around Late 2010/Early 2011.
Yet another example of quality talent currently in the TCN newsroom who was unknown to the majority of Sydney viewers a few years ago but is now a household name in the city: NSW State Political reporter Chris OāKeefe.
And Chris started at Nine Gold Coast News.
The trend obviously if you want to be a journo on a capital city station, youāre better off being born in the country where you can get a job with a local outlet, get experience/exposure, and if youāre good enough, you should get an offer from a metro station sooner or later.
Wagga Wagga would be a great spot to start⦠you can study journalism at Charles Sturt, and youāve got 2 (soon 3) TV stations doing local news, plus 2 commercial radio stations and a couple of community radio stations as well if you want to start at the very bottom.
Kate Creedon presenting Early News from Tuesday - Thursday this week.
Tuesday (20.12.16): Mark Burrows is reading the Morning/Afternoon News.
Sonia Merinelli has been announced as the weather presenter for Nine Local News in Victoria
