Not the first occasion when a Peter Overton coughing fit happened at an interesting time - I believe there was one in 2015 while introducing (or just before/after) a report on asthma!

I was kind of hoping Cameron would have to step in and finish the bulletin like he did when Roger Climpson took ill just before Seven News in January 1993.

Yeah, it was fortunate that Nine had a reporter on-set (who TBH I could actually see being used as a fill-in presenter for a full bulletin in the future, should the opportunity arise) they could quickly cross to. Thankfully Pete was OK after the report, no doubt there was a drink of water during that package!

Cam has anchored 9 News before, if you werenât aware.
He should be doing it more often. Itâs good enough for Tony Jones to step in for Hitch when heâs on leave, Cam should be being used in a similar way.
Just as Nine News Sydney never (well, aside from that joke segment for a Grand Final edition of The NRL Footy Show in 2012 or 2013 anyway) had Ken Sutcliffe presenting the news, I think that tradition should continue with Cameron Williams especially when there are plenty of high quality alternatives.
Also unless I missed this, it was a bit disappointing how the death of Kay Stammers didnât rate a mention on Nine News Sydney tonight. Even if she hadnât been seen during a TCN bulletin in about 40 years, I wouldâve thought the woman whoâs believed to be the first ever female news reporter at Nine Sydney (paving the way for dozens of female reporters & presenters after her, to the point that TCN 2020 has had an all female secondary 6pm presenting team on a regular basis for a few years now) wouldâve been worthy of at least a 30 second mention!
Youâre right. Why use Williams when Mark Burrows is such a great alternative.

Couldnât see anything about it mentioned on their Twitter feed - wouldnât overly surprise me if most people in the Martin Place newsroom either didnât know about the existance of NewsWorld (especially since itâs now over 30 years since Seven aired a program under that title) or simply associate the name with Clive Robertsonâs nationally screened program during the Late 1980s.
Itâs probably only hardcore media enthusiasts like us whoâd say âNewsWorld was an evolution of News Night as a standard late night news bulletin on Channel Seven Sydneyâ!
yep I remember him anchoring on the day the Sydney Swans won the premiership in 2012.
His first line that evening was: âGood evening, the Sydney Swans are the [AFL] premiers for season 2012â.

I donât think she will appear on regional bulletin. She will be travelling around Gippsland and South Gippsland on location and presenting the weather. Similar to what she did at the end of last year.
