A shame for Darwin viewers though as they will only get to see their newsreader on weekends.
Glad Jono will be doing the weekend news but the rest is a little messy.
I wouldn’t say Wally is retiring, perhaps he will do the Friday - Sunday sport. I think (prefer) that Sam isn’t returning…
Although if it means anything, he’s getting a lot more exposure on the weekend news than Nine News RQLD and Darwin (with the addition of the audience in Brisbane and Gold Coast).
Jono on Weekend News and Sports Editor at QTQ, Sam & Paul on regional makes the most sense.
Sophie Walsh presented Early News on Monday & Tuesday this week.
How long has Mathew Woolfrey been reporting for Nine News? He did a report on the return of athletes from the Winter Olympics tonight. I’ve only ever seen him on air doing the entertainment report on Nine News Now.
His role at Nine seems to have increased this year he has been doing some reporting for Sydney since January. His instagram does say sometimes spotted on @9newssydney.
He has also filled in for Richard Wilkins on Today Extra a few times this month, he is a regular on Nine News Now doing Entertainment segment and appearing on the Chatroom.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Matthew Woolfrey usually a producer for Nine News Sydney?
In any case, I’m pretty sure he’s been in the Willoughby newsroom for a few years now and I remember him being at Macquarie National News Sydney (ie, 2GB News) before transitioning to TV!
The type of report Woolfrey did tonight is usually the domain of Mike Dalton. I’ll be devastated if Woolfrey is a permanent replacement for Dalts!
Easter is fast approaching and it won’t be the same if anyone but Dalts is out at Homebush chomping down on corn dogs and harassing the kiddies in the showbag pavilion.
If Peter Harvey was still around (hard to believe it’s almost been half a decade since he passed away), I’m sure he’d be smiling at Mike Dalton’s recent work at Nine News Sydney, particularly for the all important stories at Christmas & Easter!
The annual Easter Showbag launch event is tomorrow, so I’d imagine that Dalts will be on board for that!
This wasn’t picked up, It seems Alison Ariotti is expecting her 3rd child.
Sylvia Jeffreys presented Early News this morning.
Justine Conway presented weather on Melbourne 4pm & 6pm News today.
Jo Hall says she is deeply remorseful after she was caught drink driving near her home last month.

Has there been any news about who will become Nine News Perth weekend presenter after Louise Momber moved to Today Perth News?
I think Alice Murray or Michael Genovese might take the position, or (hopefully) they might get Tracy to do weekends and three days of Nine Live Perth with the Alice and/or Michael taking over the other two days.
That’s sad to hear.
I haven’t been able to access that item due to the paywall.
Does it say whether she was low, mid or high range, or what reading she blew?
Fear not, Daily Mail is here to the rescue -
Definitely a low-range offence if the network says she won’t have to face a magistrate.
