You say that as if you know it, I am sure I was under the impression were getting 4 separate newshours.
As I say I am sure I had read, or took the impression it’s 4 separate shows, not just ‘windows’.

In one of the announcements made by Nine a while, perhaps when they announced the presenters, it said that it would take the format of state wide bulletins with 8(?) minutes set aside for local content.
Haha I read this too! I wasn’t even in the country for most of last year and knew it was July.
yes, within the hour, there will be local content, allocated in the rundown.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
in all the articles and other things, it says it’s based off NBN - now trust me, NBN does not do 4 separate hours into Newcastle, Mid & North Coast, Gold Coast and Northern Tablelands.
Yeah, NBN News certainly doesn’t do six separate bulletins. They do local windows for news, sport & weather (Newcastle’s are live, the others are pre-recorded) for those six regions alongside live segments for statewide, national and international content.
I’d imagine that these new Nine News bulletins will operate in largely the same way.
Canberra Times is just a Fairfax Media brand now so despite it appearing on/in there I guess it was written by some work experience kid at who never watches TV and clearly wasn’t checked by someone who lives in a regional area where the affiliations changed.
As previously stated by Nine it’ll be based on NBN News’ format & so we there’ll be multiple local segments in the bulletin.
With the recent social media posts about recording promos and Vanessa visiting various locations in the broadcast area hopefully they’ll begin broadcasting promos soon.
I don’t see how they could do 4 separate hour bulletins, given they all have the same newsreaders & studio crews etc how would the logistics of that work? They’d have to start pre-recording them at 2 in the afternoon.
As other people are saying, maybe the first segment or two of each bulletin will be localised and then after that they all get the same segments with the national/international stories and sport.
7QLd manages to do 100 bulletins a day out of one studio and get them on air at 6.
But no I don’t see it working either it’s just what I thought I had read.
100 separate bulletins from 1 studio… somehow I doubt that. Citation please…?
From the studio in Maroochydore, they produce a seperate news bulletin for Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Central Queensland and Toowoomba. That’s only 7.
But in saying that, it’s still a lot of news coming out of the 1 studio
The hyperbole is a tad strong there
Of course, the 7QLD as well as WIN TV News bulletins are 30 minutes each compared to the 1 hour Nine bulletins.
My thoughts are that the pre-record for each market would be 2-3 items of news, 1-2 items of hyper-local sport (not just Canberra NRL team, but Tuggeranong baseball team etc) and possibly weather for each area.
The live bulletin would begin with state/national news with a regional/country/farming/mining focus but otherwise similar to Sydney followed by break then the local news tape would play to each area then a break. Later, more live news, a break then live state/national sport followed by local sport on tape. To end the weather may be a state report or it could be a local taped report.

Really? Like you couldn’t tell that it was an over-exaggeration?
Hope it works for the sake of competition
Of course this is not the case. 9 News Regional will be broadcast into 7 different markets in Queensland.
If they were to do them as separate shows as you suggest, they’d have to start recording the QLD bulletins at 11am. Which is clearly far too early.
It’s possible for 7 News to do so, as their bulletins are only 30 minutes long.
WIN News also have no problems using this method in QLD, as their bulletins are 30 minutes long, are only offered in 6 markets, and utilise 2 studios.
It’s well documented online that these new 9 News bulletins will be Live statewide from 6pm-7pm, with segments of local contents in each market at certain points in the bulletin, just like NBN.
So for example, it could be done as:
6:00 - Live Statewide
6:04 - Pre-recorded Local Window
6:12 - Ad Break
6:15 - Live Statewide
6:25 - Ad Break
6:28 - Live Statewide
6:38 - Ad Break
6:41 - Live Sport Statewide
6:44 - Pre-recorded Local Sport
6:49 - Ad Break
6:52 - Pre-recorded Local Weather
6:56 - Live Statewide Story/Closer.
It’s more like a Zillion
They should be able to customise it for each viewer then.
So each MediaSpy member should then get their own “perfect” bulletin.
I might have laughed just a little too loud at this
@SydneyCityTV What’s your tip about the set? Have they built a duplicate of the new Sydney set??
