Oh dear. What happened at the end of the local window? I assume there would have been dead air or an early opt back to the live feed?
Mike Lorigan presenting NSW/ACT bulletins tonight.

6:15pm weather preview:
âA wet weekend is on the way ⌠Nicole, how much rain are we going to get?â
Amazing.
Nine should be using Luke Dufficy on the Sydney bulletin as Cameronâs fill in. Heâs infinitely more watchable than Erin Molan.
Border North East content from Wednesday.
I missed recording the opener headlines, so it starts from the title card:
Did they start with that local story or did you just cut the national intro out?
Quite a good promo too.
I donât get why they show that 9 news flipper between each local story. Itâs so jarring.
Started with national stories but I cut to the local news.
Sydneyâs bulletin is currently been shown.
Video of tonightâs problems.
Gee, those errors sound pretty bad.
Wouldâve been nice if Pete acknowledged that regional viewers were currently seeing the Sydney news due to technical difficulties, similar to how Juanita Phillips welcomed Tasmanian viewers who briefly received ABC News NSW tonight.
Nine doesnât own SCA, so thatâs probably unlikely to happen.
Although since the Southern NSW/ACT bulletins are produced from Willoughby, youâd think that the regional team could quickly alert the Sydney team about them having technical difficulties so Peter Overton (or whoever the Sydney newsreader is that night) can quickly say something among the lines ofâŚ
You get the idea.
With all the technology around these days, Iâd be very surprised if the team in the Nine News Sydney control room werenât aware that their bulletin was being broadcast into regional areas due to technical difficulties.
A ticker message could do the same thing perhaps?
the problems with SCA bullietns is they a produced using a automated system which runs the show based on the rundown. If one small timecode error is made, either with the time code or location code it can send the system out of wack
Know vs careâŚ
And Nine probably donât want to tell their large Sydney audience that theyâve had a stuff up, even if itâs for some other region (Sydney viewers donât care, just as I donât care about Sydney traffic, but weâre in the smaller audience).
