I don’t know how this would sound but couldn’t they potentially get Jono Uptin to do weekends and work out a way by pre-recording stories etc sort of like a 10 News First Brisbane/Sydney model?

Yes, but the ideology of people change when they are given a 7 day bulletin (as they also had for many years).
Then they reverted to the regional format, and they complained about getting QLD news. No doubt they will complain about Sydney news on the weekend too.

Good worm from nine. The other local bulletins are shit because they aren’t a owned and operated market.z they do the bare minimum for the southern cross markets as per their affiliation agreement.

NT residents believe that ABC NT provides more local content in their 7:00pm news bulletin than Nine’s since it’s presented locally.
It’s a perception but certainly not a reality.
Both services are great but you won’t hear much about community and sports stories over on ABC. But you won’t get the in-depth investigation type stories over on Nine either.

Any other comments on this bulletin? How is the sport coverage?
Pretty average so far. Most of the leagues up there have their grand finals this weekend (except AFLNT who started last week) so that should be a good time to judge.
Paul Murphy still hasn’t appeared.

I think in general though, local news is usually at a minimum on any ABC bulletin compared to a commercial rival. Say 4 or 5 stories on ABC News SA would be local, where as on 7 or 9 you’d triple as many local items. With 9 News back in the top end, I’d imagine it’s similar.

NTD has reverted to showing QLD afternoon news and weekends as of this week. Really inconsistent.

Yeah there has been a few little graphic errors on the bulletin. Last week the autocue failed so PT basically went silent during the intro.
