Sure it might only directly impact mortgage holders, but it also impacts people looking to borrow money, people with personal or car loans, renters through rent increases, and it is another factor that businesses will use to increase prices.
Whether it needs a full 5 minute breaking news spot every time is another discussion. They used to only be quick 1-2 minute hits announcing the decision. Cover it in more detail at 4 and 6 I say and just give the quick update.
Nine have been doing these for at least 15 years, so it goes both ways.
Peter Hitchener and Nat Yoannidis did a meet and greet from 1:00pm till 2:00pm this afternoon. Unfortunately they didn’t mention anything about it a day or two prior, as otherwise I would’ve gone to the show to meet them both, mainly the great Peter Hitchener as I’ve never met him before, and it’s been my biggest dream to since 2023, so it was a missed opportunity to today unfortunately.
However I will be going to the Royal Melbourne Show on Thursday to meet Alicia Loxley and Scherri-Lee Biggs. This will be the second time I will have met them. I first met Alicia Loxley at the Royal Melbourne Show on Grand Final Eve on a Friday in September 2024 with Tom Steinfort. This was the second time I met Tom Steinfort that year, I first met him in March that year when he was presenting on location in the Ballarat CBD the day Samantha Murphy had been announced murdered. The second time I met him with Alicia Loxley at the Royal Melbourne Show in September that year he remembered me easily from the first time I met him.
I met Scherri-Lee Biggs in May this year when she was presenting the weather in the Ballarat CBD on a Friday night. So I’m sure both her and Alicia Loxley will remember me when I see them again on Thursday.
I’ll also present a Nine News report from the desk like I did in September 2024.
A stark difference between the Melbourne promo and the rest. A concerning lack of local stories and vision used in the Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth promos. Honestly, how lazy
Another win just over a week later for Nine Adelaide with 98,000 . That was a 10,000 margin over Seven that had one of its lowest audiences of the year.
