MELBOURNE - 19/10/2020
Chances are slim (and we havenât seen the final product yet) but Iâd love to see each state get the new desk LED screen which goes from edge to edge (as Sydney seems to be getting)
I think it is exciting to see it all come together. Tell you truthfully I was wondering how they would do it - squeeze all this studio space into the limited footprint of a commercial tower (as opposed to the wide campus style block they have in Willoughby) but it is looking really good.
It would have been cool if they had a street-level studio similar to Mart7n Place, but I think this will be just as nice.
Before we move on, let me just say that what happened in this thread today should be a lesson for everyone.
Responsible media enthusiasts protect their sources for advance info ahead of relaunches, in a similar way to how responsible political journalists protect their sources for the big scoops. Mind you Iâm not sure whether the likes of Laurie Oakes would entirely agree with such an analogy, but I do seem to recall Laurie being very protective of his sources for old stories (even when it came to stuff which happened decades earlier) during that pre-retirement interview he did with Charles Wooley on 60 Minutes a few years ago.
In any case, itâs sometimes far better to watch speculation from the sidelines than spill the beans publicly online about every single detail you know about an upcoming relaunch. Not sure about every other member of this forum but even as someone who realistically has very little chance of ever making it in the industry, I donât wish to be blacklisted from the entire Australian media and denied the opportunity (if/when conditions eventually permit stuff like this to happen again, of course) to experience cool things like studio visits in the future!
I can guarantee that wonât happen mate. You wonât get in trouble for what someone else may or may not have done.
Why would you be?
How was he even allowed to drink to that extent on company premises?
They probably still have a culture of Friday Night Drinks at work. We stopped doing it 15 years ago but I know a lot of workplaces still do it.
My mate is an engineer and he works in a very swanky office. I visited recently and was awestruck by their plush lounge and full bar, complete with fridges and ice makers for their drinks night every week.
I wonder if they uncovered a secret stash of alcohol during the Willoughby clean out from the days of Chisholm, Leckie and Meakin when, as legend has it, the booze flowed freely and raucous, debauched behaviour was prevalent.
And Chris Smith who worked for A Current Affair, in the mid 1990s got drunk and disgraced himself in the TCN boardroom. He had a relapse and repeat performance at the 2GB Christmas party in 2010. He has since been able to control his problem, thankfully.
Sorry but this post makes no sense whatsoever⌠I donât see how what happened has anything to do with you or why you would be blacklisted? Youâve made the above about you and thereâs no connection here?
Yet another Millionaire Hot Seat story on Nine Gold Coast News. This time about someone who won $100,000 on yesterdayâs episode.
Seriously nothing else?
Lol. The rival news network are on
It was also reported on Nine News Melbourne.
They had no choice really.
The other networks were clearly going to run with it and if they were the only ones who didnât they would have been called out.
Oh Damn! Not long to go now till TCN moves to North Sydney
Wow that looks impressive! What would they use all 4 for?
Today, Today Extra, Morning News (for example)?
