Okay, but how is that related to Nine News
You might want to think about looking these things up before commenting / speculating, and also checking the title of the topic before you post to see if it’s relevant. Just a suggestion.
I posted it here because it was on the Nine News broadcast. I apologize for making a mistake.
Rare technical issue with Nine Gold Coast News tonight with the cross to the weather report failing with just a static image on screen and dead audio before the report was read from the studio.
Tracy Atkins read the bulletin this Friday. Some other caps from an otherwise good bulletin.
Why do they report the swell in feet?
Every other bulletin (correctly) I’ve seen uses metres.
This is not America.
It’s a surfing forecast. And waves for surfing are usually reported in feet - surfboards also.
We always use feet for surf conditions and nautical miles for aviation
Isn’t it always presented out of Melbourne?
Yup.
I know stories like this come around here and there as ways to gain viewer attention. But, why this was classified as “Breaking News”…?
Slow news day?
There’s been a report every night for a few days now. That was last night. The previous night it was a report from Tangalooma - so I suppose it was breaking that he could be spotted in Brisbane . Again tonight.
And people wonder why viewers think commercial news bulletins in Australia are an absolute joke.
Nine even got the chopper out there and live-streamed it on socials.
In fairness to 9, the chopper is in a pool with at least 7News (i can’t remember if 10 & ABC are part of it) so this would have been a decision between all the networks that share the resource, not just 9.
Breaking hearts maybe?
Will the Afternoon news be national this afternoon as it sometimes is over the holiday period?
Based on the program guides, Sydney and Brisbane are to share a bulletin but the other markets will be local.
Looks like Melbourne is getting the national edition of the afternoon news. A long interview with Chris O’Keefe from the 2GB studios.
I am not watching on TV but the 9Now app though.
