Almost like the virtual set Disney uses for The Mandalorian with the massive curved screen to create depth, except this one doesn’t have/need a parallax following the camera.
It’s just a large (rented) LED screen.
With some physical elements sitting infront, however the screen behind is VR style, so when the camera pans there is depth and the background moves with the camera to make it look like a physical space. Looked very clever.
Tom Scott just did a mini-series with a similar setup in the UK
And Katy Perry did a performance for American Idol with the same concept
That ‘No.1 banner’ looks extremely tacky as usual. You’d think the ‘No.1 news’ would be more professional looking.
What’s with the badge they’ve given themselves, looks awful.
Wonder why they used black for the strap on the end of the title card when it doesn’t go with the package at all - as usual 9 Qld just do whatever they want.
From Ticker Media today, you can see the news exchange at Nine’s new headquarters. Very impressive. (From 3:48)
Excuse the language, but fuck that looks awesome!
Agree. Tacky as all hell. Their presentation up there is absolutely shocking.
They need to show this off on air. That is stunning.
My first thought reading that was this:
Should’ve gone all out and done “Official Favourite Best First Number 1 News”
Looks AMAZING!
Incredible
Sounds like the slogan I might expect North Korean state television to brand their news as…
Really a great place to anchor 5am, 11am and Late News from - in that newsroom. So dynamic.
Video of Brisbane promo.
While I’m not a fan of the tacky #1 medal graphic, the rest of the promo is quite good.
And it is quite an achievement to be able to promote the ratings win. A result of a lot of intense promotion and no doubt crunching the numbers on what promos and stories work in SEQ. Also a big turn around from last year when Seven won 30 weeks. Plus no more querying the tag line “Brisbane’s Number 1 Newsroom”.
It’s time for them to hire Mr. Washee Washee as the receptionist too.
