Still a couple of years before we can say Amber Sherlock has been the main weather presenter for over a decade though, because Natalie Gruzlewski presented Sydney forecasts on weeknights during 2010-12.
Yeah I thought that might be the case but for some reason on Amberâs Wikipedia (I know, shouldnât have checked there ) it says Amber has been doing weather since April 2011?
Was she doing weekends before then moving to weeknights in 2012? I wasnât watching Nine News Sydney at the time so Iâm not sure.
Amber certainly wouldâve done fill-in forecasts back in 2011/12, but I think it may have been more common for the news presenter to read out forecasts on weekends back then.
If my memory is serving me correctly, it wasnât until about 2013-14 that Nine News Sydney regularly had a forecaster on all week long.
Suuuuch a missed opportunity to build a studio with a glass wall onto the newsroom. They could at least commission lightwell or whoever to do a digital loop of the newsroom for national bulletins.
With the radio news for 2GB and 2UE now combined with television news if would be good if the standard was raised. The Sydney radio news still finishes with a couple of useless one sentence news stories that often really tell you nothing. If they are going to include these stories they need to be structured so that the listener isnât wondering what the story is about.
That backdrop looks great. Good job Nine
I agree. 10x better than the last.
Thatâs so much nicer than the cold, super zoomed in Sydney backdrop.
Sport should be read on the other side of the desk so the MCG and Rod Laver is the background.
Now, can the accent LEDs go back to white? The blue is yuuuuuck
I agree. The white is so much classier. I donât know why Melbourne even chose to go blue.
Iâm gonna go out on a limb and say itâs to coincide with the Aus Open.
Possibly but itâs not overly âsport lookingâ unlike the live shot used at 6pm during the tennis.
And 4pm wonât air during the tennis. If it goes ahead.

No idea why this burred vision would need to be protected from being used by other networks.
Because when it comes to blurred vision, you see it first on Nine News! /s
If youâre going to do that, you may as well just have a black screen with âFootage Unavailable. Watch Nine News at 6pm to see these exclusive picturesâ text and be done with it!
