I’d be spitting too.
I’m curious, what was the reason behind bringing in dual presenters on the GC in the first place other than optics, or consistency with the 6pm news?
For a half-hour, hyper-local precursor to the flagship bulletin, serving a city of less than 600k when the double header was introduced and less than 800k today, it didn’t seem to make much financial sense
Likely in response to Seven introducing it’s own 7 day a week bulletin fronted by Rod Young - Wendy Kingston’s promotion to the Gold Coast desk with Bruce was announced five days after Seven’s bulletin was revealed.
Surely this would be a much better fake angle to use for the Gold Coast bulletin (and previously also Darwin and NNL)?
It’s a promo for Uber Eats. It aired a few nights ago followed by the full promo.
The standard of TV management in Australia is a farce and often has been. Once Seven canned their bulletin on the Gold Coast it was only a matter of time until Nine started cutting back there… Both bulletins were just talent only studio’s and Darwin Nine didn’t even have that.
Makes you wonder how bad their sales figures on the Gold Coast and Darwin must be?
Would Newcastle be much better??
Isn’t that the Uber Eats promo that runs during tennis?
It is was, it wasn’t a very effective one then since I didn’t notice!
I’ll see if any more air like that.
It’s almost like the governments job should be to keep competition alive alive somehow to the benefit of the public
Unfortunately places like the Gold Coast have no spectrum available for any new TV broadcasters. If there had been an opportunity for some new TV broadcasters to start up, Commercial TV here would not have declined as quickly as it has.
Bad people in a bad business pretty much sums up current TV management in this country.
Whoever is doing the VO on the Sydney updates this afternoon makes it sound like an ACA promo with their tone.
Alex Heinke? Lol
Is this another Japanese-style graphic approach?
Wonder if 10 might take advantage of it?
No chance.
I’m confused about where the ad is airing, is it during Today?
Or just in general during the ad breaks?
I saw it during Nine News 6pm a few nights ago too, it confused me too probably because i wasn’t paying full attention (see a few posts up!).
