(Tony Jones) and former Aussie tennis star John Millman were doing a live cross from outside Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park on Thursday night when disaster struck.
It all fell apart after the pair had finished discussing the latest news from the Open and Jones spotted Millmanâs bold fashion statement.
Jonesâ cheeky shot at Millmanâs double black ensemble backfired spectacularly when his reference of music icon Johnny Cash went over the head of everyone.
It went pear-shaped as soon as Jones extended his hand while pointing at Millmanâs fancy threads in an apparent gesture to shake hands.
After a moment of awkwardness, Jones eventually told his colleague to shake his hand.

Wonder how Nine News bulletins covered their own âincidentâ tonight with Djokovic v TJ?
I tuned-in to Seven News just because I thought theyâd cover it properly, not that Nine havenât met their journalistic responsibilities. Perhaps unfairly by Seven too as I knew being an arch-rival theyâd lead with it especially HSV and they did.
9 Melbourne led with the story too.
Was quite a comprehensive report too.

I saw the report on Nine News, and I thought they covered it fairly, it wasnât really a lot different to how Seven covered it at 4pm.
Both reports acknowledged TJs comments were inappropriate and there was no blame apportioned to Novak to anything he did. Nine had slightly more from TJ on his response than Seven did.

I just feel for Alex de Minaur, the amount of oxygen this has sucked away from his big R4 clash tonight, aiming for his first ever QF at Melbourne Park, unfortunate.

For some odd reason, de Minaur always gets less attention and coverage than Kyrgios or even Kokkinakis, despite being a better and higher ranked player.
Probably just a reflection on their personalities, de Minaur just goes about his business quietly and humbly, unlike Kyrgios.

Even if Kyrgios or Kokkinakis or Popyrin or the like were on tonight, theyâd have got the same deprived coverage today for sure due to the Novak and Tony saga.
Historical audiences show viewers still tune-in to the Demon, especially by the Round of 16, like 1.6m for the equivalent match last year IIRC though a battle contest and was the Sunday.

Nine Gold Coast News: Axe falls on jobs as bulletin reduced to single newsreader
Nine Gold Coast News will be reduced to a single newsreader and jobs will be cut under the latest devastating hit to local journalism.
Presenters Eva Milic and Paul Taylor will spit newsreading duties across the week, with three redundancies at the Glitter Strip newsroom.
The axe was also falling on Nineâs Darwin news bulletin, with a Nine spokesman saying the Northern Territory would instead receive the Queensland bulletin.
Itâs understood 11 full time roles across the Northern Territory and Gold Coast will be impacted by the decision, with many expected to be redeployed into other positions.
Senior sources within Nine Queensland revealed long-term executive producer of the Gold Coast 5.30 news bulletin, Eve Sharpe, had been made redundant as part of the changes. She had only returned to work in recent months from maternity leave.
âThe management should hang their heads in shame,â a senior Nine network source said.
âThey are on hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and are getting rid of people that are paid a pittance.
Itâs understood the new changes will see producers based in Brisbane overseeing the Gold Coast 5.30 news which will run on skeleton staff.
âThis is the slow death of TV news on the Gold Coast,â another source within Nine said.
