I’m assuming Sydney 4pm is from the set as usual?
9NEWS GOLD COAST WINS RATINGS GOLD
WITH A CLEAN SWEEP
9News Gold Coast has confirmed its top place on the podium as the city’s premier and most trusted local news service with a clean sweep in the ratings – four months from the end of the official OzTAM survey period.
The gold medal again belongs to 9News Gold Coast’s presenters, Eva Milic and Paul Taylor, along with their dedicated newsroom. After dominating 21 out of 21 weeks surveyed so far, alongside a robust year-to-date Total People share of 53.6 per cent, 9News Gold Coast continues to set new benchmarks.
Eva Milic said: “We are thrilled to see our newsroom recognised in this way. What sets our team apart is that the race is never over. We are committed to bringing Gold Coasters the very best coverage in every bulletin we deliver. I’m constantly inspired by the team’s talent, dedication, and commitment to serving the Gold Coast.”
Paul Taylor said: “What an incredible achievement for our elite team. In this newsroom, we understand that success is a team sport, and every individual contributes to our collective achievement. Together we’ve found our rhythm, driven by the energy and dedication of each team member, and the Gold Coast continues to show up and support us. Working from paradise makes it all the more fulfilling.”
9News Queensland Director of News, Amanda Paterson, said: “What a golden result! Led by Rod Power, our Gold Coast newsroom sure knows how to win the ratings game, clinching the top spot once again halfway through the survey. They consistently deliver comprehensive coverage, leaving no stone unturned, which resonates deeply with our local audience, and it has paid off.
“The ratings clean sweep underscores their dedication and hard work, and this recognition is well-deserved. It’s an exciting time as our Gold Coast and Brisbane newsrooms unite to bring our viewers the stories that matter, alongside updates from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, setting the stage for Queensland’s own Olympic moment in 2032.”

Kate throws to Brenton just for Brenton to throw to Damien.
I would love to know what the actual ratings numbers are for comparison. What’s the margin?
Couldn’t throw in a please for good measure?
Everyone asking TV.Cynic for data like they owe you a reply.
Damian Ryan at the Olympics made me flashback to Beijing 2008 sixteen years ago, when he and Nine were infamously banned for a week, after he and his cameraman did a big boo boo, in terms of the notorious media access restrictions imposed by the IOC to non-rights holders, didn’t help that Seven (naturally) made a massive deal about it.
Speaking of that Olympics, there were a lot of spats that played out publicly, including with the AFL, Foxtel and SBS. As well as ‘on the field’ too. And it broke OzTAM ratings records to boot.
Also came across a photo online the other day of later disgraced-then HSV star reporter-now AWOL overseas Dylan Howard interviewing Liesel Jones.
Do you have a beef with me? Second time you’ve jumped down my throat tonight.
I wasn’t asking any particular member for anything, just saying it would be good to know the numbers.
But @TV.Cynic if you have the numbers, yes it would be great if you can share please.
Andrew has been awful out of the studio. Very awkward the last few nights.
He definitely is much better in the studio, probably a lot more comfortable for him by the looks of it.
Melissa would’ve been a better choice to be on location.
The live crosses duting the evening news just get stupider and stupider. I’d like to see these minimised to only breaking news stories. The rest are better presented as pre-recorded stories.
They’re cheaper than pre produced content and stories and there is a general belief they make news more exciting and dynamic
If anything they will increase
The tagline especially that bottom cap seem very reminiscent of the Alicia and Tom campaign over summer in Melbourne
It’s supposed to be. Nine News’s tag line is ‘9 News, Your News’ and also ‘Your City, Your News’
It’s a dreadful tag line that’s meaningless for most people.
Bruce Paige investigates: “ Stay awake to watch all of the Olympic events live. The winning food and sleep game plan. Nine News tomorrow.”
No joke
