How big and how many sets for all the networks they can fit in Parliament House??
Nine would have a lot of space allocated to them now they have TV, Print (SMH, Age and AFR) and Radio (2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR), so they probably re-arranged some things.
Apparently Nine and Seven have always had studios in the past, but itās usually just a plasma/green screen for live crosses and reports. ABC use to have only a greenscreen space, but then expanded to a proper studio around 2013 IIRC.
Canberra could have Ch 9 soon with a local Nine News bulletin
Most likely not, but could it be for the Tasmania news?
Tasmanian news got cancelled. Apparently WIN wasnāt willing to help fund the bulletin.
Looks like cameras controlled from Sydney with that initial robotic zoom.
Donāt think the āLIVEā corner bug works when it looks like itās coming from the main studio.
Canberra gets a new desk before Adelaide and Perth! Outrageous!
That pre-interview throw looks weird too. Not sure why either of them werenāt sitting at the desk.
Might be getting ready for 24/7 News service!
Now they just need to replicate it in Newcastle for NBN rather than the ugly screens.
Pretty decent setup!
If they can do this for Parliament House, there is no reason they couldnāt of done this for NBN (or even a scaled down version for the Gold Coast).
I think itās budget wise
I was going to say, this is what they should have in the small regional markets, perhaps just a smaller screen. Looks great.
Even though prices have come down - those walls are still hugely expensive.
The other two channels were showing their pre-budget interviews at the same time. He was live on Nine, so it was just to make a point.
Iām aware Seven are also renovating or about to start works on their Parliament Bureau.
Iām assuming space is becoming more available inside Parliament House with the shrinking media landscape
Sure, but itās an odd investment unless you have bigger plans. Donāt get me wrong theyāve done a great job creating a replica set to Sydney. But at the moment, Nine will use this studio (to its capacity) once every year for the federal budget and once every three years for the election. ABC does Briefing from there weekdays right, so it was a more worthwhile upgrade for them.
