Part of combining the bureau with The Age and SMH, a larger studio was built with a desk. Hosting of special coverage (budgets etc) and future proofing.

Lol Nine Melbourne crossed to Jacinta Allan for the state budget and there were bells tolling from a clock tower for 2-3 minutes

I actually thought their constant talking over the Premier and the Opposition Leader was quite disrespectful.
It’s one thing to push to get your answer, but Tom particularly kept talking and talking as the Premier was trying to respond.

It was because she was going to use the COVID pandemic as the answer which right now is a cop out.
She was making a valid point. Not that anyone would know because he wouldn’t let her finish.

These live interviews with a leader like this are a bit of a gimmick in my view.
What do they actually offer the viewer that they don’t get out of the nicely packaged reports that include grabs from them anyway.
Its not like a forensic 7:30 report interview, its the 6pm news.

They have been using the COVID pandemic as the excuse for years. While granted, it’s not now. When they could drop a 100-200billion dollar project… but they won’t dare do so. That’s why he was cutting her off, it was fodder.
