Yeah…I still reckon the liveshot(s) should be used at 4pm and 6pm. Cap #2 reminds me of Prime7 Local News!

I really don’t like the use of the new 9 News logo with the white box around it, kinda makes it look like they’ve just slapped a .jpeg logo over an image and I especially don’t like it on a blue backdrop such as the screens on the front of the desk - just overlay a white logo with a transperant background.

It’ll be interesting to see how long Nine keeps that new Sydney sports backdrop in use for, what with ANZ Stadium becoming a construction site for a couple of years after State of Origin 2 in June!

It’s the Sydney Football Stadium at Moore Park that has been demolished, the one pictured behind Cameron on Nine News is the Olympic Stadium at Homebush.

Didn’t stop Nine News Sydney from running a couple of NRL stories at the start of tonight’s Sport segment though.
Also, I can’t believe that some people think the stadium image is of the now-demolished Allianz/Sydney Football Stadium when it’s so obviously of ANZ Stadium (even to someone who’s never really been inside the stadium itself - maybe once or twice many years ago) at Sydney Olympic Park which isn’t closing down for renovation until after the 2nd State of Origin match in June. Obviously Nine have unfocused the photo so that sponsor names aren’t really visible, but it’s definitely of ANZ - do a Google Image Search if you aren’t convinced.
Of course I don’t have any problems with Nine’s choice of stadium imagery at the moment, but would hope it’s updated to a backdrop of the SCG or Bankwest Stadium when ANZ closes for renovations. In any case, Nine’s decision to incoroporate local stadium/sporting venue imagery as their 6pm bulletin Sports backdrops (like Melbourne’s Rod Laver/MCG backdrop while Brisbane’s is of Suncorp Stadium, etc.) is way better than what Seven News Sydney does with their very generic stadium backdrop.

No. I wasn’t referring to the one at Moore park. I’m referring to the one at Homebush. They are 2 completely different stadiums. The one at Moore park is Allianz stadium while the one at Homebush is ANZ stadium
