Nine claiming the year in Melbourne with a memo to staff:

As new sponsor billboard for Nine News for just the start of summer.

PS: Don’t understand why Holden got rid of their original version that included the song “My House” from YouTube.

Considering the narrow margin (for the weekday bulletin), that might not be the case after consolidated figures are factored in

The problem with Nine’s claim is that in previous years they have claimed victory based on weeks won (rather than average audience across the years).

And this year Seven won more weeks than Nine in Melbourne.

Nine would do anything to claim a victory in any market whether it’s weeks won or average audience.

Local afternoon news continues in Sydney… Interesting since TV Tonight reported National edition over Summer?

With Tipping Point screening at 3pm this afternoon thought it would come into line with that.

I think this was the last week?

Yeah, I was surprised when Melbourne’s arvo bulletin aired after Tipping Point.

Despite what TV Tonight said, local 4pm news will continue through summer. They will only be rested over that Christmas/NY period.

Well that’s a shame. Was looking forward to a national edition.

This began last week but there is now a standing presentation for the opener of the Afternoon News in Melbourne.

Looks great! Would love to see more of this in the 6PM bulletin too.

Are those slightly different graphics with the 9NEWS ALERT scroll at the bottom new? With the yellow coloured bar at the side of the graphic?

Just screened in Sydney on 4pm news due to bushfire emergency alerts

This?? I haven’t seen it before either

Yep, That’s new.

Nine News really needs a graphics refresh.
These ones look horrible, especially with the massive “Breaking News” text.

I’m sure those graphics showed a while back on Queensland’s news.

I think these were used during the bushfire coverage a few weeks ago.
