It will be the second time Helloworld airs on Nine. It showed the first season in 2018, before Seven showed season 2 and 3.

Eddie, Lauren Phillips and Giaan Mooney were at the new season launch in Melbourne last week.

Air times for today’s premiere

The first episode will broadcast on Nine on 3 November 2024 at 4:30pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, 1pm in Sydney and 12pm in Brisbane as well as catch-up on 9NOW and 9Life.

Lauren Phillips was in Fiji in early September on a “special assignment” and hosted Nova 100 breakfast show from her hotel room. Turns out she filmed a segment there which would feature in today’s first episode.

UPDATE: Bodies in the Barrels is produced by Perpetual Entertainment for Nine, and distributed internationally by DCD Rights. Perpetual previously made The Murder of Lyn Dawson, which aired on Nine last year.

Murder Down Under: Bodies In The Barrels

Snowtown, South Australia, is a desolate and dusty hamlet, little more than a battered collection of rundown buildings on the side of a highway. But the town is forever synonymous with what police discovered hidden inside an old bank vault in 1999: the dismembered remains of 6 people, stashed away in black plastic barrels.

When they entered the building they thought they were walking into a hydroponic drug setup. Then came the smell.

As they opened the barrels they found signs these poor souls had endured horrific torture.

This bizarre and gruesome discovery led police to uncover Australia’s worst ever serial killing: 12 people murdered, tortured, dismembered.

John Bunting was the psychopathic ring leader behind the murders, using his charisma to manipulate those around him into joining his murderous campaign.

Bunting and his acolytes would pick on their socially isolated friends and neighbours, inventing a pretext to murder and torture them, and even steal their government benefits.

What makes these crimes all the more shocking is that many of these murders occurred while Bunting and his co-conspirators were under active police surveillance.

PART 1

Monday, November 11, at 8.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now

Twenty five years ago, police made a gruesome discovery that would forever cast an eerie shadow over the tiny hamlet of Snowtown: the dismembered remains of multiple victims, stashed away in plastic barrels.

Investigators who were first on the scene reveal haunting details of the discovery, and how Australia’s worst ever serial killers were finally put behind bars.

PART 2

Monday, November 18, at 8.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now

When police entered an abandoned bank in the tiny hamlet of Snowtown, South Australia, they had no idea they’d soon uncover the most gruesome and bloody series of crimes in Australian history.

The Snowtown serial killings claimed the lives of 12 people, murdered by a psychopath who was as charming as he was evil.

THE ROAD TO RUIN STOPS HERE

ALL NEW RBT

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, AT 7.30PM ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

Hear the extraordinary stories and excuses from candid drivers up to no good on our roads and witness the patience of our police when RBT returns with new episodes, Monday, November 11, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Narrated by Andrew Daddo, the new series will once again capture the drama and danger of daily police work – from major roadside drink-driving operations and mobile breath testing to high-speed pursuits and dealing with drivers under the influence of drugs.

RBT balances the seriousness of offences with the humour of characters and situations as it follows the thin blue line and drivers through Victoria and New South Wales.

In the season premiere, Mohammed claims he is part of an unbelievable medical research program using methamphetamine to cure Covid. If you don’t believe him, he says you can ask the prime minister. Troy, 44, is a man who knows his limits and claims he routinely drinks just the right amount of mid-strength beer to stay under the limit, but will Troy’s technique save him from losing his licence? And 27-year-old Karma, a good guy, has a habit of making bad decisions. The latest one was deciding to drive after downing three cold beers while he spent the afternoon fishing. Will the roadside testing prove to be bad karma?

RBT is produced by Endemol Shine Australia (A Banijay company) for the 9Network.
