Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

First runs only yeah? As I believe at least Chicago Med is on 7Plus and have even seen promos for it. Wonder if Nine’s is just broadcast or if they get limited or long-term bvod for their new eps on 9Now.

There’s also Foxtel and Binge to consider, who also signed the NBC-U Pay TV and svod components of the output with Seven at the end of 2022.

Yes first runs and then they would have repeats for a period. So for example they might have Season 7, 8 and 9 and repeats of S5 and 6 but then next year S5 runs out and following year S6 runs out and then they all go to Seven.

This was just an example. Same with 10 and SVU. 10 will have rights to new season and then a couple of prior seasons only but then as the next year rolls around they lose it and goes to Seven etc

The Moomba Parade broadcast runs for 90 minutes.

Online guides have mixed messages on whether the parade will be shown in Tasmania: On TV Tonight says it will air on TDT, Your TV (owned by Nine) and WIN website say it will not be shown in the state at all.

Now showing as 11.40pm with a true-crime program in the schedule for 10.40pm.

Well, after TVCynic repoeted just 3k combined viewers… Shouldn’t be buried on 9Gem, nobody would even know it’s there. Just air it on Channel 9 after 9News Late (say 10:30pm or 11pm) and it’d at least be found easier for AFL fans in those markets wanting another analysis/panel program or loyal viewers of Footy Classified brand, I’d say the viewership would instantly jump tens of thousands.

Seven saw success with Wednesday’s FB > TF in those markets and the opposite has happened, next week’s planned earlier line-up for those markets out and kept these footy shows in.

I wouldn’t go that far, the Wednesday eps were running at around 2am on GEM at one stage probably two years ago. I’d be happy for this timeslot to remain, also means it doesn’t compete to split the little AFL crowd for now.

Moomba organisers announced this afternoon that Monday’s parade had been cancelled due to extreme heat forecast.

It means GTV9 Melbourne will now follow the national schedule from 1.30pm to 3pm.

This was a shock, sad to see, but not totally surprising given the severe weather conditions and dangers this long weekend

Not even postponing, but outright cancellation!

Tomorrow - Monday (Labour Day) is last day of the Festival.

From memory, Seven use to show this event in the 90s. Along with the waterskiing.

Didn’t Seven show it a few years back for a number of years before Nine got the Melbourne City Council deal, including NYE? However I recall them covering the parade and live, rather than the Birdman Rally.
