Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Nine is airing a double episode of Luxe Listings Sydney on Wednesday 22 November (eps 4 and 5) with Botched out.

On Wednesday 29 November, the new series premiere of Clarkson’s Farm will air at 8.30 followed by the season finale of Luxe Listings Sydney at 9.40pm.

Another Amazon Prime show getting an FTA screening. It has already been renewed for a third series, with or without Jeremy Clarkson’s involvement.

I’m pretty sure they have already confirmed he will be apart of it.

Now that Australia has made the final, this should give 9 its 20th weekly win (after this week), so it will be up to 7 to even the score in the last week of ratings.
9 had the year won with The Ashes, 7 gave themselves a chance with the mighty Matildas, then watched it fritter away with poor 7.30 programming… cricket again giving 9 a chance of winning it back.
7 should win the year in overall %

PLANET EARTH III

EXPLORE THE WORLD’S LAST WILD PLACES

PREMIERE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26, AT 8.00PM ON CHANNEL 9 & 9NOW

The remarkable final series of the Planet Earth trilogy, Planet Earth III, will explore the last of the world’s most magnificent habitats and their amazing animals when it premieres Sunday, November 26, at 8.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Presented and narrated by the legendary naturalist Sir David Attenborough, this outstanding documentary series celebrates the wonders of our sublime world from the deepest oceans to the remotest jungles.

Planet Earth III is a stunning eight-part masterpiece, brimming with beauty and insight, that tells extraordinary stories of survival and adaptation that are at times heartbreaking but always full of hope.

Going beyond our imaginations, Planet Earth III journeys to the far reaches of our planet to uncover the Earth’s remaining pristine wild places and the staggering strategies animals have developed to exist there.

Filmed over the course of nearly five years, the new series uses pioneering filmmaking technology to reveal the greatest wonders of life on Earth.

From phenomenal forests to freshwater habitats, grasslands to deserts, each episode will concentrate on an exceptional and distinct new environment and reveal the fresh challenges facing wildlife in our contemporary, crowded world.

On location near Down House, Charles Darwin’s family home in Kent in England, Sir David said: “In this new series of Planet Earth we travel to the most astonishing wild places, see mysterious creatures, witness rare, spectacular wonders, and reveal breathtaking animal dramas.

“The natural world continues to surprise us, but since Darwin’s time it has changed beyond recognition, being transformed by a powerful force – us. We will see how animals are adapting in extraordinary ways to survive the new challenges they face. At this crucial time in our history, we must now look at the world through a new lens.”

Planet Earth III is a BBC Studios Natural History Unit production, co-produced with BBC America, ZDF and France Télévisions for BBC.

Sorry if this has been covered previously (I’ve only just noticed) - do Nine have a deal with Amazon for FTA broadcast of their shows or are they picking up specific shows? I noticed Luxe Listings Sydney in the guide the other day too (and I think Nine might have given The Grand Tour a crack too)

Looks like Seven’s Fox exclusivity has lapsed and now owners Disney are speaking with Nine again (on broadcast - yes there’s been titles already on 9Now this year). This will be the first time in around 7 years, when Nine last aired a handful of 20C Fox titles (and at a time Ten still had the output) - think this was when Nine rekindled their relationship with New Regency (where TV licencing was handled by Fox at the time but in 2019 went in-house to Regency) and just before this Ten had rights to Regency.

Note: Regency titles are now on Disney+, after being on Nine’s Stan (20C via Disney still handle theatrical distribution of Regency’s titles).

Guides listing this as a “premiere”, however IIRC it first ran on 10 (and has been repeated a few of times) in recent years. Will be interesting to see what Nine promote it as (if they’ve made a promo).

updated

Nine’s promo end-tag did say “premiere” (which is incorrect), however they didn’t otherwise voice or have another graphic saying it was a first run, indicating they were probably aware but tried to be sneaky. They’ve done it like this for recent WB ones that first ran on Seven.

Nine has pulled The Garden Hustle from the line-up for this Saturday. The reason… it is the final week of survey and ratings are close and will come down to the wire for this week - Nine at risk of losing the week so trying to ‘up’ their Saturday night. Ep 3 will move to the following week and then continue as normal.

Do Nine have a Disney contract again?

Will we see Disney films from now on on Nine/ 9Go?

Not exactly sure how two movie re-runs, one of which is 30 years old, will aid with that? Probably on par with Garden Hustle. Also have to consider the other networks too, all battling for a slice of that tiny Saturday share.
