Eye-watering riches, astounding fame

It’s a Kardashian world. We’re just living in it. Get a look inside one of the most influential families of the 21st century and how they achieved stratospheric wealth in Kardashians: The Billion Dollar Dynasty on Thursday, February 2, at 9.00pm after Married at First Sight on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Their tantalising story is all about money, sex and power, and it’s riddled with scandal and drama. They rode the wave of social media and have created a whole new model of business and influence that has taken over the world.

The first half of the documentary unpacks the way Kim Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner built their super brand. It starts in 2007, the year of Kim’s infamous sex tape and the debut of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians TV series, and ends in 2014 with Kim’s Vogue cover shot with now ex-husband Kanye West.

Next, the story follows the youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, from 2015 to the present day, focusing on growing up with reality cameras and Instagram, and how she became Forbes magazine’s youngest self-made billionaire in the world by the age of 21.

The Billion Dollar Dynasty revisits the twists and turns of this extraordinary family who have gripped television audiences for 15 years while adding a layer of historical context and analysis to the fame, fortune and heartbreak they’ve gone through. From a disastrous 72-day marriage to breaking the internet with a new lip product and getting robbed in Paris, this riveting documentary follows it all.

With a new TV series set to drop and a third generation of these arch self-promoters waiting in the wings, what is next for the unbelievably rich and famous Kardashian family?

Getaway returns for another season of excitement and adventure

GETAWAY RETURNS: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18 AT 5.30PM ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

Australia’s longest running travel program, Getaway, is back for its 32nd season tomorrow at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Aussies are itching to explore the world, and the new episodes of Getaway in 2023 will showcase interstate destinations and overseas adventures to satisfy our viewers’ hunger for excitement and travel.

In the first episode we say “bula” to Fiji with Charli Robinson as she indulges in the luxurious relaxation and wellness programs of the Six Senses Fiji resort on Malolo Island.

David Reyne explores historical Churchill Island, a 19th century, 57-hectare working farm just off Phillip Island in Victoria, trying his hand at whip cracking and blacksmithing.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Lewis tours Queensland’s Granite Belt, taste testing what could be Australia’s best apple pie.

Plus Catriona Rowntree visits Oslo and explores its delicious street culture and museums to learn about the intriguing history of Norway that goes right back to the Vikings.

Stepping into her 27th year as a presenter on Getaway, Catriona said: “From journeys in our own backyard to cruises through the Arctic, exploring Asia as I finally tick Japan off my bucket list, and the cities of Europe, I can’t wait to join our team in bringing the wonders of the world to our travel-hungry viewers.

“I’m just as excited to be filming Getaway heading into my 27th year as I was back in 1996. I prayed that I would last the six-week contract, which has clearly been answered. The buzz is still there and I’m able to be the conduit for others as we travel the globe.”

Getaway is proudly supported by our Exclusive Principal Partner, Scenic.

Season 2 of The Pet Rescuers starts today at 12.30pm.

The release of Olivia’s duet with Dolly Parton (currently No 3 on iTunes) and a new album of duets (Volume 1… so the promise of more) in May, is helping to keep her memory very much alive.

Thank god NRL is not on the main channel in Melbourne (excl. Storm) If it was permanently then it would be ratings suicide for GTV. I guess they have learnt that putting it on the main channel does not “boost ratings for the NRL” but decreases ratings for the network.
